The cheaper option as i said we started at a,b,c and are at r,s,t now.

The reasons could be what a poster has put below.
You pays your money and you makes your choice.
NP would want trusted people around him,not somebodys elses sidekicks.

I'm not ITK but was told Pearson was interviewed early on but wanted total control, bring in all his own staff, too much money etc.

If he keeps us up: that's all I could ask of any manager, given our current position and games left.

I would NOT choose him - but I wouldn't have chosen Cotterell either and he proved me wrong last season.
Staying up is all that matters for me

If LJ is appointed he may well keep us up, but then what, does he have the balls to stand up to the board over players, does he have the command and authorities presence to handle bigger players next season if we get them in? All unknown and for me way to big of a gamble at the moment. If Pembo can get a win and a few goals against Charlton, surely he has to be a better short term option and see how we go until May

I've watched him closely since he became manager as I was sure one day he'd take over here. He's like his dad in regards to personality. He's not going to stand there and let everything be done for him. He'll have his say and make it known. Just have to read Oldham and Barnsley forums to see he isn't a yes man.

What were we honestly expecting. Moyes, Sherwood and Pearson would never come to a club in our position. Who else could we expect to come in. Lees definitely better than mad dog, trollope and a lot of others out of work.

People were definitely expecting a big name, that's why there's yet another total unnecessary overreaction, I get he's not popular with everyone, no manager is going to be liked by everyone but the reaction to appointing him isn't necessary in my opinion.

If he can get us an average of 1.5 points or more as he has done when coming into difficult positions at Oldham & Barnsley, then that may well be enough, however he did his in L1 previously, as we have seen already this season, there is a big gulf in class between L1 and the Championship.
He certainly seems very adapt at dealing with a small or non existent budget and uses the loan system well, should stand him in good stead for his role with us!!

Like it or not, Lee's our man and we have to support him & the team. I think it says a lot about his character that he's coming back to a club where he endured a certain amount of ridicule. That to me shows some mettle which is what we need in our head coach.

I wish him all the best and hope we can all enjoy the summer after we retain our status in the Championship.

    Welcome home Lee.

ACCORDING TO MY WORKING OUT 1.2 IS SUFFICIENT
5 WINS AND 3 DRAWS AND 8 LOSSES
JP has rescued the boat with 2 wins and 1 draw in 4 games critically v Charlton

If you break down his two managerial appointments he's done ok with teams with little to no budgets.

Winnall and Hourihane maybe, but I think Smith only played a very limited amount of games for LJ, I think he might of played more for us than Barnsley with LJ in charge.

Like someone else pointed out, I was very uninspired by Cotterill and look what he did, so hoping for the same withLJ.

Hated him as a player, had nothing to offer (please don't say "he played for the red shirt". Any fan would do that for 12k plus a week, doesn't make us worthy of a spot in the first team every week) but hopefully he learned some of his dad's brilliance as a manager and also recognised his dad's faults and can achieve something here...

Although I have a big suspicion this is way too big a job for him.
