According to this, he wants to hold fire until summer - in case more lucrative offers come in
In which case, is that the sort of "commitment" we need at NCFC

What a fiasco for us and Everton.
At the start of the window the transfer looks good & Naismith appears to want to come to us. But Everton get clever (not) and say the're in no rush to sell, hoping to get someone else other than Norwich interested, so they get more money. This raises Naismith hopes and all of a sudden he goes from being happy to go to Norwich to hoping he'll get a better offer nearer home. Things change for Everton and they need the money to bring in another player, but Naismith gets clever and asks for more money than we are willing to pay effectively stalling any move in the hope of getting a better offer and at the same time sticking one finger up to Everton. Naismith has nothing to lose by stretching things out. If we pull out he stays at Everton on wages for effectively training or potentially goes out on loan and if he plays well raises his value in the summer. Norwich may panic (unlikely knowing McNally) and pay over the odds or another team may come in for him, which he might prefer to go to or offer him more money. Naismith still holds all the cards because he can always drop his wage demands and move to Norwich anyway. He might upset AN by messing us about, but as recent videos indicate upsetting AN doesn't seem to be an issue for him. I can't believe that we have got to the stage we appear to be at in the transfer process and we've only just raised the issue of wages. Surely we should have had an idea about value / wages before we've spent so much time on him and helped him raised his profile to other clubs. I hope we've got a plan B. If it was me I would have had a plan B & C and it would have made sense to have the plan B running alongside plan A as if something goes wrong as it has we're still near making a signing and it also puts a bit of pressure on Naismith. Whilst I like McNally as a CEO I'm starting to think his negotiating tactics are not as good as we think. The only party playing a good game is Naismith & his agent.
