Ah the voice of reason at last, if DM were only to ask for my advice eh?

Does my head in when people say this sort of thing. It is an insult to fans intelligence imo. I have been watching and playing football for 25 years and as such, have developed a keen sense of how football works. I am not saying i should have a job at Carrow Road or anything, but to suggest that David McNally knows "more about football" than any of us fans is unfair. He may know more about what goes on behind the scenes and how much money we have to spend, but in terms of potential targets???? ...well who is to say that one of us doesn't watch the Swedish league regularly and has identified a player who would be cheap (because no-one has heard of him) but could do a good job in the Prem for us (because he is far and a way the best we have scene?

It is all hypothetical but we fans watch a lot of football and surely not EVERYTHING we read about in the papers is nonsense! Therefore it is fair to assume we know a little about what might work for our club! After all, none of us would ever purposely look to damage our club?

I agree that we are all excited and a little hooked on discussing who we should and shouldn't go for, who we have bid for and who might leave. It is all part of the fun and why i actually DO like the transfer windows! No1 on here has been stupid enough to suggest we go for a Messi or a Ronaldo. As far as i can see, we have all suggested players who we might have had a reasonable chance of getting based on the knowledge we have of how much money we should be able to spend given of top flight status over 4 of the last 5 years.

I believe that we have been linked with at least three players called Oscar in the last few days. Is this a new trend, buy players with the same name to confuse the opposition?

In fairness to McNally, I'm fairly sure he pays people who are supposed to know more than you or I, to identify targets.
But I do agree that it and other condescending pieces that seem to presumes anyone who gets a little bit excited about the transfers is some sort of moron and needs to calm down are actually rather tiresome.
It's a sport of passion and opinion and the transfer window is a uniquely exciting time for debate and some excitment about how your club may show ambition and enhance the team. It's our hope to see a new player create some magic, stop Aguero or stick one in the net with his bum for 3 pts!
Maybe it's common sense to ignore the many rumours flying around, but maybe it's common sense not to pay and travel to watch pampered overpayed players kick around a synthetic pig skin and perhaps spend more time with your family or playing a sport yourself? But common sense really has nothing to do with football, let alone social media. So let us all have a rant, a cry or a jest cause it's one of the many joys of football.

Bah!

Pull your finger out McNally ! :emoticon-0105-wink:

I mentioned this a couple of days ago, but ForgotMyLines doesn't rate him too highly :emoticon-0105-wink:
Oi! Stop dropping me in it!!

It was my opinion on him, and posted news stories and fan reactions from Leicester. I also said about how big clubs are looking at him, so he must have something. I just worry, he can't do it in the prem for Leicester with Mahrez supplying. Was a bit worried he would be another RVW.

Having nearly offloaded one unfit striker with a poor attitude on Wednesday, can we really be wanting Bendtner? The man who the rest of the Danish squad supposedly refused to train with because they don't like him?

To be fair, it seems he's being linked with pretty much every EPL club in the bottom half and mid-table positions.
