Honestly - a few people that know Murray do question the change in his attitude over the years. I think he became a cynic during the demise and fall where we rapidly reached league one.

I guess he probably doesn't bare full responsibility for it.

Bald twat doesn't get half as much stick as he deserves. I dislike him just as much as the Belgian duo.

Saturday was the first time I've bought VOTV.

Is the whole Varney thing a bit of a red herring?

As much as I like him he didn't divulge his proposal and it can be strongly assumed it almost definitely involves a move to Kent.

I will be there on Saturday, Vol. I fully agree with your assertion that this is initially about getting Fraeye out. Then, to quote Chris Powell and his ludicrous management speak, we go again.

I wouldn't say a red herring - but was surprised when his name was banded about on Monday, with his emails subsequently printed in VOTV.

Since then I read another article from the same author saying PV has no desire to return and only acting as an intermediary. This makes more sense from what I had been told previously - but will also reiterate nothing has changed since March time.

I can see why this dialogue went to print, but also think it plays with the fan base emotions and leans on them a bit. Personal opinion - it would have been nicer if it weren't still at step one.

Didn't Peter Varney used to employ Rick Everitt at Charlton ?

He did. He also appointed Steve as his successor which left a sour taste in ricks mouth and why he went on a character assassination rampage. Interesting to see them back in bed together, but think the demise of both their relationships with TJ and MS had a hand.

    "Charlton-The Soap Opera"

Rick has stated categorically that a move to Swanscombe is not part of the plan. That's enough for me. I'll be ready to rejoin the battle in February, hopefully there will be some further developments by then.

I think the realism is - whoever decides to come in will seriously consider relocating. The Valley continues to grow in price, and several councils will be more accommodating that Greenwich have over the decades to (hopefully) a championship club with premier league ambitions.

The Valley will be the main reason any investor decides to look at charlton.

worth its own thread - wasn't it great when Murray walked into the VIP area after the game, and hundreds of Charlton fans turned on him and chanted "Judas" and worse.

I was standing underneath the door to the left of the VIP area, Murray looked shell shocked when he walked out.

If this horrible disingenuous phoney had an ounce of self respect left he would walk away from this car crash of a regime tonight.

Charlton fans have clearly seen through him at last.

Really it' sad. He could have walked away years back relatively untarnished. He could have stood with the fans at any point this year and been a hero. But for reasons best known to himself, he sided with the Belgians, and I don't see a place for him at Valley Floyd Road now.

Complacency. He thought the premiership years would probably get him a stand one day.

    He now knows.

Excellent protests. Highlights were when Murray got his come-uppance, Team of Kermorgants, Michael Morrison and Chrissie Powell songs. Very good-natured, even the abuse was quite restrained.

Five minutes before the game today I placed myself in front of the Directors Box to see if Meire and Murray would appear.

I thought they would sit towards the back and would not have the nerve to sit in their regular seats towards the front, but to my amazement they did and I began pointing my finger at Murray he then came down to hear what I had to say so credit for that.

I told him that what was going is a disgrace and they have destroyed what he did here in the good times.

His words were "yes I know but unless you have 50 million quid, but we are bringing in 5 British players".

Meire comes down to row 2 with him, I'm shouting she's a disgrace and show her the puppet flyer with the flag background, she smiles and holds arms out in manner of what can I do?

So what is Murray's game, he seems to change his views like the weather, one minute he tells people he supports the Belgians and the next minute he says he agrees with a disgruntled fan that they are a disgrace.

He thought the protests wouldn't gain momentum and probably told his masters "not to worry about them and anyway if fans do get angry I can calm them down.. they trust me" he has probably been surprised about the ferocity and hatred towards him and the owner.

I had a similar exchange of views at the Brentford game. Well done for saying your piece mate, all I would say is that I saw Murray's face in the VIP area last night after he copped it from the fans, and he looked shell shocked.

As for Murray's comments about bringing 5 players in - PMSL - is this the same bloke who once said our days of selling players to survive under RD were "over" ?

    I am counting the players.

The first being Rhys Williams, another with very little experience due to injury over the past two years.

Two of the others are Johnson (who has been playing in India) and Poyet who couldn't get into the MKD's team <ok>
