I take more offence over your "quality over quantity" comment tbh, we needed the players, we are not buying left right and center because we can, its because we have needed to. If you had signed any of the players that we have signed, you would be happy. Konchesky will do just as well in this league as Taylor Danns is 5 years younger than Faye I think that if you keep your current squad, then Sam will get you a top 2 finish, as he is a class manager.
Are the players you have purchased gonna perform well in the Championship ? Yes. Konchesky and Pantisil are quality going forward, but as mentioned before lack defensive know how. Konchesky plays on the law of averages that if he wallops the ball in the box he has a 50/50 chance of finding his man,Pantisil has a nice way of gaining that extra 5 yard's for a cross or pass but is clumsy as hell in his own box.If Svens tactics are to play with these attacking wingbacks then I hope you have people covering all day long otherwise you are gonna leak goals all season. Nugent is a journey man who never seem's to come down from his cap with England. These players arnt bad players, they will have you pushing for the top or there abouts
Oh God I'm sorry, but when has playing for England U21s ever been an indicator of a top player? Top players play for the proper England team by the time they're 20. In fact, when did being a full England international make you a a top player these days? Green is an average goalkeeper - it's funny you mention him as an England player because his England career will only ever be remembered for one thing. He was easily the worst of an average bunch of goalkeepers in 2010, and he showed it. Upson and Bridge are utter gash for England and if you claim to me Bridge in particular wasn't a pile of **** for you last season, you're quite simply lying. He's always been ****ing ****. And Carlton Cole? Even if I was one of those people who took the piss out of Heskey constantly - I'd still think Cole was a poor man's Heskey. He's a terrible footballer. Quit ****ing over him, he's **** and you know he is. Now there's no doubt you have some good players in that list - Hitzelsperger, Keane (who was **** for you as well), Parker and Ba - all 4 will be leaving you. And the rest? They're OK, but no better than what we've got. The only players you will have next season worth shouting about are the ones you've just brought in. But tbh you had a **** squad for a couple of seasons, I was pleased when you went down because you played awful, awful football whenever I saw you. The fact is Parker has stood out for you partly because he is a top player, but just as much because you had a **** team. In conclusion, you should have sold Carlton Cole to Stoke.
Fair enough, now can we have a list of Leicesters top international's, U21 or not ? You guys seem to forget that you have been playing in the graveyard of football for the last 10 years.. Your digging me for having players who played for England, but wernt very good ? Bunch of jokers!
Why would we forget that? Are you sure you're not looking for the Forest board? No Leicester fan is trying to claim that our squad last season should have us in the Premier League this. So I fail to see what the relevance is of our international players?
With the players Leicester have signed I wouldn't be surprised to see them finish first by quite a distance. That's from my neutral perspective.
The relevance to this thread is that the other Fox was arguing that the reason WHU went down last year was down to the quality of the players, you cannot have several international players in your squad and struggle the way we did without there being major problems within the management of the club.If we had Big Sam last year there is no doubt we would still be there.instead we were rubbish and deserved to go down. Im confident based purely on the players we have signed and if Cole decides to stay and nobody else comes in for him we will win the league with ease.Cole is at best average in the Premiership,in this league he would look like Drogba in his prime
Let's just say that all the selling and buying is far from over. I'll expect West Ham to be selling, and Leicester will be buying.
No, Cole is not Drogba no matter what level he's playing at, Cole is Cole. He's a thick, lanky, clumsy player who doesn't score goals. I have never ever seen why anybody rates him, his only assets are heading it, and he's got a bit of pace. He's a very limited footballer though, the Championship is probably his level. If you want a comparison, he's a cross between Lloyd Dyer and Steve Howard. You went down because you failed to invest in players. Not only Avram Grant but even Scott Parker told the owners that they needed to strengthen, yet the advice was ignored. You had a few decent players but that's to be expected, it's the Premiership. The majority of your squad was utter **** and plenty of people fancied you to go down before Grant's appointment, including me. You were **** under Zola as well. In fact you've been **** since 2006. Face it, you had a poor squad and finished bottom. Finishing bottom tells it's own story, you were crap and you're going to have to rebuild. As it happens Allardyce has made good signings so far and I think you've got a good chance of automatic promotion.
Emilio I watched West ham in every game last season, home and away and your wrong. West ham spent big money on Wayne Bridges 70k a week wages,Ba's wages and fee who even in a poor managed team still managed to show his class by scoring 9 goals in 16 games. Hitzsleberger was Germanys captain at the time of purchase,Keane on 70k a week.Obinna on big wages. Barrera who has just shone in the World Cup. Even at Xmas when we popped out of the relegation zone we could have easily have gone onto get out of it. There was never a doubt based on quality, last season was purely down to the manager not stamping his authority on the club or players with the end result being that the players did as they pleased and played without fear of being replaced. You sound a bit clueless in your rundown of the club, which I guess you were venting with green eyes while looking up last year, you mentioned how **** we were under Zola as well, well as you may have forgotten our foreign owners went tits up and decided to re- mortgage the club by creating debt and selling all of our assets such as Bellamy and virtually any player we had of value, remarkably we stayed up under Zola's management. But I guess that doesnt stick well with yourself, you can't end each of your sentences with the word **** if you revert to the facts can you.
"You sound a bit clueless in your rundown of the club, which I guess you were venting with green eyes while looking up last year." Hilarious! 7 wins was it? HAHAHAHA! I for one was jealous! "Who could Leicester sell?" You would love to have players like Andy King, Richie Wellens, Lloyd Dyer, Paul Gallagher, Martyn Waghorn or most of our new signings! But if Big Dodgy Sam can "find" some money, we may let you buy Michael Lamey!
Yes struggling in the championship is much better than struggling in the Premiership. Would you let us have Andy King ??? Richie Wellens ???? Lloyd Dyer ??? I have never heard of any of these players ,(not kidding) I havent heard of any these players because they play for a burnt out club with a burnt out manager who's previous glory club was .... Oh the giants of Nottingham, Notts county. I would place a bet with you actually that more people on this site know more of West Ham's reserves than they do of Leicester's first team squad Ha Ha Ha , I cannot believe your bragging about these **** bags, atleast you have grown a sense of humour. Im off, sweet dreams foxes
Ha! And you accuse my fellow Foxes of not knowing their football...you better get to know those names, they rip West Ham apart home and away next year! And I wouldn't be criticising our manager, Big Dodgy Sam is as crooked as a 9 bob note!
So in summary, you were ****? There's no point tiptoeing around it, just be honest, you know you were. High wages does not equal quality, like I said you had some quality but a lot more crap Zola signed some terrible players. You don't finish bottom with a quality squad, you absolute numbskull.
Emilio are you semi ******ed ? I answer you judgement that west ham didnt invest in the squad by showing you were they did, hence proving my point that it was the management and not the squad that were the main reason we went down. Im not skating round anything im just explaining the reason,im not arguing we were ****,even a tard like you can understand this,I live with hope anyway. My knowledge of Leicester's squad is poor, but as I dont support them and they have not achieved **** all in the last decade why would I pay any interest in them ? Do you know any of the Halifax squad ? no , Because like leicester nobody gives two hoots about them. Back to Zola,my god you are thick,if I asked you to go buy some footballers with zero cash, with have now and pay later deals, how many quality signings could you make ? im sure you could purchase most of the foxes squad.
To say that we've been buying anyone that's available is rubbish. Sven has been building a squad good enough to win the league. He has blended quality championship with experienced PL players and his aim is to have a squad with strength in depth and quality cover for each position, which he has achieved. All we need now is another winger and another striker and we're done!! Last season we had plenty of PL players in our team, Yakubu, Kamara, Bednar, Bruma and Van Aanholt on loan from Chelsea, Naughton on loan from Tottenham, add to that Ricardo who has played 80 odd games for Portugal and it meant nothing, we weren't good enough to go up. That's because they were the wrong type of players for this league. PL players struggle in this division because they're not used to the intensity or 'fight' that is required to be successful. You have no time on the ball and you'll get clattered by someone if you try to be fancy, that's just the way the Championship is. To think you'll come down with a poor PL squad and expect to walk the league is arrogant and misguided. As for our team, starting with Sven who is the most experienced and successful manager in the league having won 17 trophies in various countries and was the first manager to win league and cup doubles in three different countries, what has Big Sam won again? Oh that's right nothing!! So on to our team of internationals: Schmeichel - Denmark U21's Ball - England Konchesky - England Pantsil - Ghana Bamba - Ivory Coast Tunchev - Bulgaria St Ledger - Ireland Abe - Japan Nugent - England Vassell - England Paul Gallagher - Scotland Enjoy your fight to get out of the most difficult and tightly contested division in the world!!
