Thought Saints were very good, and with some better finishing could of won it. Draw prob right result in the end though. WvanD was immense, although he shud of scored, and how didnt he get MOTM ?

Yeah, ignore Sky, Virgil was MOTM for me by a stretch. I thought Clasie showed promise - he's one of those annoying buggers that's everywhere harrying people. The commentator said "Mane, not known for his defensive prowess" - you know what, he should be. He's often tracking back and tackling. I actually thought the second yellow was a bit unfortunate.

But let's be honest, it's all about the Gaston cameo!

Moreno made a complete meal of it which made it look worse than it actually was. Spanish prick.

Well that was an amazingly open game! I was pleased with the commitment and Saints ability to win the second ball and get stuck in. Wanyama was the MOTM for me, I thought Liverpool's movement was better and that they have improved and a draw was a fair result. However, I think we need to retain possession a little better in the middle third, we dropped a little too deep and invited Liverpool on to us just before they scored and Mane was slow in closing down the crosser. Likewise Tadic left our right hand side exposed a few times. Really could have nicked it but the final ball or the finish was just not quite there. Silly red for Mane, soft but silly.

I feel a bit sorry for Virgil. Firstly he doesn't get MOTM and then he gets outshone on here by Gaston's super sub impact. <laugh> <laugh>

Decent result....would have settled for that. We showed again that we are a team to be reckoned with. Gaston with an assist....didn't think he'd be involved again for us....Go Gaston. :) Shame about Mane, but I think that came down to a bit of tiredness. Missing the cup game not so bad....better than a league game. Well done, lads.

There were lots of rub of the green moments in the final third that didn't quite go for us, and to be honest we looked like scoring at most of the set pieces. Benteke was on Fonte, but it looked like Lucas was on VVD which was potentially suicidal for them. Could have easily come away with three, satisfied to get one, would have been very disappointed with nothing.

Still unbeaten away from home though. How about that?!

Point away is always a good result, especially at Anfield. Though Liverpool I though were poor, but we didn't have the best of days either. Good defensively, but couldn't connect a good string of passes in the final third. Pelle and Tadić were poor today and it showed on our overall performance. Stupid red card by Mane. And Gasto with the assist :D

Juanmi son, gotta watch your back, twice dispossessed from behind while we were on the count, could have costed us a point.

Defence was rock solid and covered each other well. Great plus not too many cards picked up...

I like Mane's comment: "For my red card it was two yellows cards. It was unfortunate and I am footballer so I will always say I didn't deserve it. The team works together and maybe I score the goal but it's important to get points for my team."

Still think he was foolish though and it could cost us in the other game.

Jose M would have said it was a travesty if it had happened to one of his own! I also think the second yellow was influenced by the histrionics, which in my book are as much of a crime as diving is. Lucas wasn't exactly delicate with his tackling was he? Not too bothered that SuperMane will miss the Villa game, no chance of an injury before Bournemouth game. I would love Ryan Seager to be given a chance!

Yes, he did make a meal of it but it was a foul, a little bit rash and unnecessary. I would be much more annoyed with a straight red.

The cup game against Villa is an odd one, you would expect to win and we should go for it, cups might be our highlight this season, however Villa may play with more freedom and I wouldn't want to dilute so much that we lose, albeit I hope Ward-Prowse, Romeu, Juanmi and Ramirez get some game time.

Wow, like the Chelsea game being all about Mourinho, this one is all about Klopp and his Gegenpressing - let's just keep under the radar and keep embarrassing them :)
