    Maybe it was a bad photo or he had his silly hair cut.

    There is probably a race element too. Not jumping on any Americans are racist bandwagons, but BBC3 had a documentary recently which showed that sub-conciously you're more likely to favour your own race.

    We tend to favour people who look like ourselves....known fact, so not necessarily racism as you say.

    Despite the comments you've got, it's true what you say. The reason why people end up with others who don't look like themselves is because they settled for something other than their ideal.
