Enough of this square pegs in round holes nonsense, it's time to get players in their natural positions and get some more attacking intent in the team, particularly at home against a team we should beating. Either 3-5-2 to cover for our full backs frailties and still get two strikers on... -----------McGregor ----Dawson Bruce Davies Elmo------------------Robertson ---Livermore Diame Maloney --------Akpom Hernandez Or just go with a more straight forward 4-4-2... -----------McGregor Odubajo Dawson Davies Robertson Elmo Livermore Diame Maloney --------Akpom Hernandez Huddlestone or Clucas could switch with any of the midfield options, there's also a couple of options for the wing back selections, though the LB/LWB position remains problematic.
The time is now right for the team to adopt a much more adventurous style particularly at home. Must agree with previous mention regarding round pegs, also, everyone must be delighted by the progress and attitude shown by Abel Hernandez this term.
Yeah I know that I just wondered if he wasn't fully fit but was there for cover if needed Bringing him on and going 3-5-2 seemed obvious to me, but because it hasn't happened I assumed there was a reason
Odubajo and Elmo both on the right in a 4-4-2 simply is not working for me. So one has to drop out and we have to play 3-5-2.
Bruce's return to the bench was at the expense of Hayden, who looks to be all but forgotten. Livermore's return in particular has shoved him down the pecking order.
I'd go with the 3 at the back team, but would put Huddlestone in for Diame (who doesn't look fit or interested) and Clucas in for Maloney.
McGregor Elmo Dawson Bruce Davies Robbo Livermore Hudd Maloney Hernandez Akpom and tell Akpom to bloody pass the ball more often.
---------------Start Bloody Playing Better City ----Then We Might Win ------More Games Or we could try: -----------Start --Bloody Playing Better City Then We Might Win ----------More Games
If we'd known Livermore would return, I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have signed Hayden, I expect him to be recalled in January, he deserves to be playing somewhere.
We need Maloney on the ball more, not off the pitch completely, without him our set pieces are hopeless (Clucas works hard and retains the ball well, but he creates almost nothing).
Have to agree we have to go 3-5-2, playing players out of position just doesn't look balanced. I would go for: McGregor Dawson Bruce Davies Elmo Hudd Diame Livermore Robertson Maloney Hernandez. Would be hard on Clucas and Dave, but Robertson would give us more threat going forward than Clucas playing there.
McGregor Elmo Dawson Davies Robbo Moses Huddlestone Livermore Maloney Akpom Hernandez Clucas offers virtually nothing going forward, he's scared to do anything, and Diame hasn't looked fit for weeks to me
