We need to bring in a serious goal scorer if we want to win the championship this season. Most teams in the division have at least one.. I wouldnt call Hernandez our goal scorer yet as he misses too many easy chances for me.

My ideal situation is we sell Jela to west ham tomorrow and we also accept an offer for Hernandez from whoever.. then Bruce needs to do what he's failed to do since he came, and thats bring in a proper striker.

We need a Rhodes/Austin/McCormack/Vydra type signing.
Rhodes upwards of 12m Austin 15m McCormack 11m+ I think Vydra is the only one we have a slight chance of out of them

Three of those are valued at an 8 figure number - we're not even close to that (I hope0

Rhodes - 'Boro had a failed bid if £13m
Austin - touted out at £15m and now £13m no takers
McCormack - failed bid by the Wendies of £10m
Vydra - just not stuck on him despite his decent record, however he completely bombed during his season at WBA

Don`t forget GAYLE, can`t see a Premier league club going for him, and he may be happy to drop to a club who have a realistic chance of going up in the Championship.

It's all well and good saying give Luer the minutes but if we have serious ambitions of promotion, we really need a 15 goal a season striker. Most top sides generally have a couple

Only problem been no one seems to want hernandez, and rhodes, austin and mccormack will all cost over £10mil apiece

I don't recall needing a leading goalscorer last time we got promoted under Bruce. Hernandez Akpom Luer Aluko Maloney Diame sounds much better than Proschwitch etc.!

I get what you are saying, but if we have Akpom, Hernandez, Maloney and Aluko chipping in with 7-12 goals each we can afford to give some game time to Luer and CJM. Only way they will develop

I'd much rather see them loaned out. They aren't quite ready yet. 7-12 goals still might nor be enough. Watford has 2 players score 20+ and Vydra got 16. Bournemouth had 3 players to get 15+ each and Norwich had a couple too.

To think that we'll be able to get promotion without at least one I think is very naive

If Jela`s knees are so bad as has been suggested, how the hell is he going to pass a medical ?
The 30-year-old striker has arrived in London for talks and a medical ahead of his proposed move to West Ham ahead of Tuesday night's transfer window, KUMB has learned.
We'll find out tomorrow.

Ah yeah, im sure there's no chance of signing a Rhodes/McCormack/Austin striker.. i meant a "type" striker, 15+ goals a season, clinical finishing, a PROPER striker.

Hopefully Bruce can get it right, he's failed big time with strikers in the past.. right from his first attempt with Proschwitz..

no your not making a point, your sharing an opinion.. big difference. My opinion differs to yours .. simples

Simples quite, you are probably in the smallest of the small minority (a minority of 1 or very close to 1) in thinking that Nolan would not be an outstanding signing for us.

Do we really need a replacement for Jelavic? Can't we give Luer some game time. Players will never develop if they are not given a chance. I'd only look for another striker if we lost Hernandez too.

Currently we will have Hernandez, Akpom, Aluko and Luer. We've Maloney to play off a striker and with Snodgrass to come back we will likely be filling the midfield for most away games

I think Luer will be a top player, but he's still finding his feet and it's difficult to pin the aspirations of a top 6 finish on a rookie.
