They've already offered £2M!!!! hahaha, sorry, I know you missed the M off, but I thought it was quite funny that you said we wouldn't get more than £2.25 for him

Might be a long shot, but what about Peter Crouch permanent or on loan. He's not the quickest, but he will score goals at this level. Could be the target man we need.

Peter Swan is a terrible journalist. A lot of what he says is either wrong or wide of the mark.

My point is. Don't use Peter Swan as beacon of truth or a way to validate a point. In fact I think using him as a way to validate a point does quite the opposite.

His strategy is throw enough mud at a wall and hope it sticks.

We have only lost one game this season and Huddlestone has played in every game. He needs as much time to settle with the new players as the new players do.

For what it's worth I think Bruce plays him in the wrong position, with the wrong tactics and the wrong role.

With Wednesday signing Hooper, could we try for Nuhiu now? Decent target man and grabs a decent return of goals.

Peter Swan has jumped on the bandwagon with the Huddlestone article but I agree with him. Maloney should be a great signing, reminds me a bit of when we picked up the Bolton lad who helped us go up under Brownie Pederson, only one season with us but was a similar age and made a big difference

There is a real lack of ambition on here - we should be looking at players that we think are good enough for the Premier League and would do a job 'when' promoted.

Would we have been happy with Nolan, Forrestieri, Nuhiu etc (or whatever their names are!) if we were still in the premier league - we should be aiming for the best Championship players and best young premier league players and not players who would 'do a job' in the Championship.

In previous seasons that might have been the case, however with the money we'll get for getting promoted, we should sign anybody who we think is good enough. Forget the future, what matters is now.

If that's true then that's all the more reason to want him leaving.

Maloney has 4 goals in 6 matches for the Scots in their Euro qualifiers. Pretty good considering it's a tough group.

At that level of competition you can see how good a player is when they can handle it, one of the reasons I was disappointed we got rid of a class act like Chester and are still stuck with Lumberstone and a few others

Unfortunately we are now a Championship team, not a Premier League one. Few Premier League players would come to us when we were up there, it was only the influence and reputation of Steve Bruce that attracted the ones we did get. Even fewer would do so now. So you are right in what you say, we should be looking for those who are striving to make that grade. This means they are unproven. Some will make it, some will bomb. Steve Bruce has as good a track record as any at putting together a team (some experience, some fresh talent) which can escape upwards out of the Championship. We should probably trust his judgement.

Interestingly, if you look at all the posters on this forum who criticise Bruce and his selections and formations, you will see they cannot agree on who to pick and who to drop. They cannot agree on what formation to play or which players to pick in which position. They cannot agree who we should buy and who we should sell. They suggest all sorts of names who "we should get" without any idea if they are available, willing to come here, or able to play at this level never mind Premier League level.

In summary, this is a forum of opinionated "know all's", we are each entitled to our views, but they are of no real value. It's a bit of fun, but God forbid that anyone on here should ever get any power or influence over the club. If you think Bruce & The Allams have ****ed it up, imagine the utter catastrophe of having an individual or committee from here running it!

Chester's head was turned. Fair play to him he's got to think about his Wales career now as well.

£8m softened the blow a bit.

Huddlestone needs time on the bench- he might start playing better from doing so.

That's not really the case, he was more than happy to stay with us and didn't push for a move at all, he'd also be more than happy to return at some point.
