I'm really not even sure McGregor is consistent enough to be considered one hell of a shot stopper. Last season he was beaten more times than any other keeper from outside the area. He has a howler in him with alarming regularity - I can't remember in recent times having had less confidence in our current goalkeeping options.

I really don't rate either of them! McGregor Wolves away, Chelsea at home last season with that pathetic Remy winner not to mention the number of shots that he conceded from distance. Some of them you accept, yet others he's just completely flat footed. He undoubtedly has concentration issues.

It must be a nerve wracking experience as a defender playing in front of him!

No surprise he's suspect to shots from distance. He probably only sees shots from outside the box in matches - from the way we attack, it certainly doesn't look like the outfield players have ever taken one training. I'm only half joking...

Nolan would be worth a shout. He's getting on a bit but there's probably another season in him.

He was a major part of Newcastle getting promoted from the Championship the season they went down when we didn't, basically playing upfront with Andy Carroll, they scored a hatful.

No finesse. No nonsense. A leader. A winner.

He wants to play and wants to succeed.

Bring him in.
I didn't think that was possible.

Why sign Maloney and Nolan? Yes Maloney can play on the wing but I wouldn't put him there, he wants to be in behind the strikers, which is also the same position that Nolan plays.

Ian Tullock ‏@Tigertully
Told £2mill bid from a German Club for Jelavic has been rejected, also Hernandez says he's happy to stay, are we tho??

Make of it what you will.
2 Million for a bloke who will be injured again sometime this year, clearly does nt want to be here, and is on big money( i would think). Why turn it down if true?

Sure they are holding out for slightly more. How many clubs accept the first bid? very few I suspect. Sure they will up it to 2.5/3 million if it is genuine interest.

I believe we desperately want rid of him, so if we have turned down a bid, I suspect it's only because we think they'll come back with an improved one.

That said, I'm not convinced our friend Tully does anything but guess.
