There isn't a direct replacement for Charlie available, anyone would be something of a step down. I certainly don't think Gayle is the answer not for 8 million anyway. We've tried to sign Hooper so many times it seems like destiny.

There was something not quite right imo. However, he scored two and assisted in the other two and his work rate and general attitude can't be faulted.
    We'll miss him for sure!

God yes we'll miss him. Maybe reading too much into it but he had the look of someone who's heart is elsewhere. Still someone actually has to make a bid.

I said this yesterday. Charlie was not his usual self goals or not. If people believe he was the same then they are deluded. I noticed a few times when balls were played to him he did not react (maybe it was the heat). There was also the penalty with the German. After he didn't even talk to him. TBH and i love watching Charlie, he is better off moving where the players are better and he has his day in the sun.

The thing is, I think the potential moves for Austin are relatively few.
I don't think any of the big clubs will want him and if they did, he'd be sat on their bench.

He probably doesn't fancy ending up at a club like Sunderland, who look almost certain to be in another relegation battle.
Newcastle may not be too far above them either. He's fallen out with Wet Spam (not his fault).

Please God he doesn't go to Norwich!! Unfortunately, they may be a good fit for him.
But will he want to leave London?

I still think Bournemouth would be a great move for Charlie but it doesn't look like they'd go to £15 million for him...

No disrespect to Bournemouth but i think Charlie would look at that move as a come down. Play great football and are in the Prem but let's be honest.

He'd play every week in a side that creates a lot of chances and scores a lot of goals in the Premier League, with him in their side they'd stay up...

I think Spurs may go for him. If they do, the sooner the better so that CR can try to strengthen thereafter. Surely CR's asked the club for an assurance that Charlie won't be sold on the last day of the Window?

Are Spurs not in for Berahino?

Bournemouth is a tough one? Agree with what you say but they are not exactly a big club with many Prem years like Say Spurs/Villa/Newcastle. I say this in the kindest way because i want them to stay up but he won't go there.

You're right Col, Berahino seems to be top of their list presently and WBA dropping him for Chelsea looks relevant.

He'll cost them more than Charlie

Cheers for calling me deluded but I didn't notice much difference myself. It doesn't mean I think he is staying as I am pretty sure he'll be off.

Polter wanted to take the pen, but Charlie stood firm. When the ball went in Polter walked back the half way line while Charlie after celebrating went to the other side of the circle with them both looking in different directions. Not good!

Well for me I´m sure Polter will get his chance but at the moment Charlie is the penalty taker thus the pecking order.

I kept my eye on Polter, he applauded when the ball went in.

It may be that it was unexpected for both of them to be playing together, and that Polter is the penalty taker when Charlie is not on the pitch, just a bit of confusion.

Charlie Austin: 'No indication' QPR will lose striker - Chris Ramsey

QPR manager Chris Ramsey says he has no "indication" that striker Charlie Austin will leave Loftus Road this summer, despite intense speculation.

Austin, who has been linked with a
£15m move to the Premier League, scored twice against Rotherham in the Championship on Saturday.

The 26-year-old netted 18 times in the top flight last season.

"I hope he stays. No one has given us any indication that we are going to lose him," said Ramsey.

Ramsey, whose side beat the Millers 4-2 to move up to sixth in the Championship table, added that uncapped Austin can earn a spot in England's 2016 European Championships squad even if he is playing in the second tier.

"Ambition is a big thing. When you're a footballer you want to play at the highest level you can and there are the Euros coming up," Ramsey said.

"But England boss Roy Hodgson has played players from the Championship before. Charlie might be better off staying here and scoring a hatful of goals.

"We hope he ends up staying here, scoring another 20 goals and possibly getting his move next season."

This means he´s on his way then :emoticon-0136-giggl

<laugh> Sure agree there, flipping Norwich of all outfits. Seriously, I hope he stays, he's a good footballer, but I do wish this bloody saga would end, and soon! Have the feeling he would only consider a club in the south, but I certainly could be wrong there.

With WBA holding out for 25 million for Berinho (Spurs initially bid 15), should they then want Austin on the last day of the window - I think we're entitled to want now 20 million at least. For the inconvenience if nothing else.
