I would completely agree with you Sydney that a 24 year old goal-scoring striker, Andre Gray, is far more important to our promotion chances and future than Maloney. But my guess is that Gray is going to turn Bristol down (no matter what their rich owners wage offer is), just as Gayle did, because he wants to be playing in the Prem and they are going nowhere. So he'll be back playing for Brentford, the window will close, and we will be in again for him in January, still in the top-6, with his friend Obudajo doing well and pushing him to move north. I'm sure that one or more of Hernandez, Hudd, and Elmo will be sold, and we can make an improved offer acceptable to Brentford (possibly in this window) I can't see any way that Gray will agree to go to Bristol City. Maybe the next 12 days will prove me wrong. Or another club comes in. If we lose him I will be well and truly pissed off. The combination of Gray/Akpom could be brilliant!!
I think the reaction of Cotterill when asked about Gray says he won't be going there,he seemed very pissed off.
Cotterill declined to elaborate on the potential transfer, simply saying: "There's nothing more to talk about on that one." He did not look very happy at all,i think he feels his time was wasted ,i think they or he wanted gray not for a promotion push but to maybe help him keep Bristol City from being relegated.
Oh, yes it did! But please enlighten me ... What did I miss? Tell me, NOW, or I'll pick on you next! Not.
So from Bruce's post match interview: Has to sell before we can buy Keeper - Wants one, but no bids yet Harrison Reed - Enquired but not available Shaun Maloney - Very close, hopefully in for the weekend Andre Gray - Player wants move to come, but unclear if we will meet Brentfords valuation Have I got all this right?
Perhaps he should bid for players that might want to play for them? They bid, the player said no, he hardly wasted their time.
You obviously found the bug, so you should be able to find the bad/misleading use of English in your corrected version of the sentence in question.
The news about Gray wanting to come actually came out after the interview with Bruce. When he spoke to Burnsy he was resigned to Gray going there, with this new revelation there may be a renewed push in the coming days.
If he is really turning down other clubs to come to us he needs to put in a transfer request. It might be the only thing that makes Brentford lower their price.
If Gray is entitled to any form of loyalty bonus, he may himself be able reduce Brentford's asking price. It would certainly demonstrate very strongly his desire to come here.
