Not the way we play which is the problem, we don't create enough chances. We can keep throwing money at strikers for the next five years but until we change our long ball game and get midfielders who venture further than the halfway line we won't solve our goal scoring issues .
Long ball game? I thought it was a pass back and sideways game and then when the opponents defence is ready we venture up the wing.
Depends who's got it Pete, Elmo goes long and hudd goes sideways and back to the centre back who has just given him it. Meyer gives it to the opposition
From what i've read we seem to be the only fans that believe he is worth 9m. Fingers crossed he signs for Bristol. Put some people out of their misery.
That's called having a **** midfield. Which we have. Which is where we should invest, not on a striker.
Watch Leicester and most of the lower Premier League sides. When they get the ball the forwards and midfield charge towards the opponents goal to get in position for a pass through the middle or towards the wing. Our forwards just seem to move about while our defence and midfield pass the ball among themselves.
Then we knock it long, it bounces off jelavic and there midfield pick it up and have acres to run into, I've even seen some players get there binoculars out so they can see how far away our midfield is away from them. Once they are 10 yards in our half they see Tom lumbering towards them
Defoe is past it I reckon and can't play in modern formations with one up, that's why he went to MLS, I rate Murray though
I'm happy to be proven wrong, but I thought you could have 5 loanees, with up to 4 from one club in your matchday squad?
Murray is 31 and has had a couple of serious knee injuries. I'm not sure I'd want to add anymore injury prone players, regardless of their track record.
Our kid is at the match and found out a cracker. City are on the brink of signing Maples Nils - nippy forward of African origin who knows where the back on the net is. Just received on SMS. Check out the HDM in the morning
