I know, they didn't like it there, apparently the fancy trying the Premier League next.

I guess my point was the evidence suggests they haven't spent much in the past for one reason or another. Their manager was even interviewed after their match sounding as if nothing was close to happening. Sorry for being surprised. No need to be so patronising.

They offered us £2.5m for Maguire as soon as the window opened.

That was a rumour they dismissed as an enquiry they took no further. 2.5 is also considerably less than 6m with add-ons.

They asked, we said we wouldn't be prepared to sell. That's why it didn't proceed. Also, strikers are generally much more expensive than defenders.

I'm a bit worried that some of our fans like yourself are overrating Gray a bit based on last season, if we don't get him it might be a lot of money saved and I wouldn't be too unhappy if Brucey brought in another striker under the radar. Calling him 'lethal' is a bit OTT like when you were telling me a few weeks ago to give Huddersfield the utmost respect despite them being, a bit crap like. The guy has never played for a big team (I'll flatter us) and has no Northern connections

He played for a team this achieved this in the league we now find ourselves

He was their leading goal-scorer, none of them were penalties, he was instrumental in gaining them promotion, their defence less so.

Just tell me who has the eye for goal - Jay Simpson or Andre Gray? Bear in mind there is a 2.5yrs age difference and he can only play in the games he has, big teams, middle teams, little teams. Jay Simpson is a really bad comparison.
