If Hernandez, Jelavic and N'Doye all leave, then that will leave us light on strikers. Assuming we sign Gray it would leave us with; Gray, Akpom, Luer, Aluko. Akpom - Loanee unlikely to be able to sign at the end of the season. Aluko - Hardly and out and out striker plus he is very hit and miss. Gray - Who knows Luer - Unproven I'd feel slightly uncomfortable going into the season with our strike line up lacking strength in depth.
If Jelavic and N'Doye go that would leave us with a strike force of Aluko, Akpom, Hernandez and possibly Gray. Whilst I think they are all good players who will score at this level, they are all a similar type of player. I think we could do with a plan B. A target man who can hold the ball up, or get on the end of Elmos and Robertsons crosses.
I dunno Dan. Jelly, Abel and N'Doye are reported to have been talking to every Club in the business and their owners' Brown Dog with little or nothing concrete. If you were a Club owner (or Manager) would you be interested in a forward with Dickie Knees, another who has a dubious scoring record at top level but who thinks he's far too good for the Championship and another who is simply up his own @rse! We will be very lucky (imo) to off-load these blokes.
just hope Wet Spam tie Jelavic up real quick. Wouldn't be too bothered if we were stuck with N'Doy, though I couldn't see him hanging on to his manager any longer for stuffing up a transfer he wanted, and well the jury is out on Hernandez. I just don't think he was served the ball by our supposed midfield that got him his reputation as a goal scorer. Put a midfield behind him and he might just do well. Let's face it, the so called midfield we had last season is what got us to where we are now
Honestly don't know what to do with Jela if no one comes in. Of the three really thought he'd be the one to give a **** the most.
Would have to agree with you on your main points but I have seen our midfield fall short time and time again with what looked like brilliant through passes to our forwards being intercepted by defenders who can only be classed as the finest in the world. There are a mere handful of players of this class in the Championship and I would expect blokes like Big Tom and Diame to come into their own at this level. Do we have another Fraizer Campbell in Akpom who could well see us back into the Premier League with a shed-full of goals only for us to see him go to Sunlun or somewhere else next season?
I wouldnt worry about Akpom going to sunderland, he will be staying at Arsenal. Highly rated there, fits there style of play, lots of pace, perfect fit for them. He could go on loan to premiership team next season at a push.
I do hope that you are talking about us - I believe we will be a Premier League Team again next season.
For some reason i have the feeling that we will be swapping places with slumberland next season so yes he will be loaned out to a Prem team
Why would any footballer go to Turkey at the moment. Another deadly bomb has gone off at a police station in Istanbul. They could surely get the money somewhere else!!!!!
So Diame is injured, has been for a while, and Villa has activated a release clause in his contract? Strange, very strange indeed.
I've had a good look round Andy but cannot find anything on Diame leaving. OLM will no doubt clarify this when he reads.
Akpom with is pace will be a threat although its very early to say how good he will be but I would like to see himbeen a bit more physical for his size, I also think he needs to improve with his heading but these are the reasons Arsenal have sent him here, any updates on Snodgrass and Diame
