I'm not rich, I do have a good deal with Sky through their loyalty rewards system mind, about half price for the next 12 months. £45 including broadband and an extra box for the bedroom, and Sky Go that let's me take my sky to most places in the world on my iPad.

Yeah, I have the full package apart from Movies, I get MUTV (don't get charged at all for that), Broadband, phone (never used once) and an extra terrabyte box in my bedroom, plus I get BT sport cos the wife's mother is with BT for her broadband so I robbed her free subscription. I couldn't live without it, I tried once and nearly died.

I've been with Sky for ages. How do you qualify for this?

Even when there's nowt on, having all them channels to banally flick through passes time.

With the anytime movies and the catch up as well, worth every penny to me like.

In three words, threaten to leave.

In more words... tell them your wife is making you cancel your subscription unless you can drastically cut your bill. Don't let them take off HD or packages, they don't need to, they can apply discounts through their cancellations team.

If they offer you at most £20 discount per month from a £90 bill just commit to the cancellation, (you have 30 days to change your mind) and after 48 hours I would bet my house on it that their customer retention dept will call you and offer you a much better deal in return for your signature for a 12 month contract.

Works every single time for loyal customers.

Not really a comparison though - Defoe has 200 goals in 12 more years than Wickham has been playing! Neither looked anywhere near a finisher last season - Defoe missed a couple of very good chances (West Ham being the most notable!) and also looked like he couldn't trap a bag of cement! Wickham looked the same TBH but had more fitness and ran his legs off most games. 200 goals in the past mean nothing if you just turn up for a payday which is what Defoe looked to me towards the end of last season! Hope I am wrong though

Well, at the rate Wickham scores it would take him 50 YEARS to score 200 mate. There's your comparison ;)

That's a fair point, there's not many PL years episodes that I don't enjoy.

Having said that, we finished 7th under Moyes but watching Liverpool bottle the league title was priceless, that's got the big blue 'K' next to it in my planner.

Thou shall not delete the year of the slip.

Just an opinion mate - but at the same age Defoe had scored 29 goals for his clubs - Wickham has 33 - that's an ACTUAL comparison not a "200 goals in 15 years v's 15 in 4 for US)! He was also only 1 behind Defoe after Defoe joined us last season! Like I say I saw a Jermain Defoe, other than 1 game against Newcastle, that was here for a payday! Just hope to god that he changes my opinion in the coming weeks and months

I'm not in disagreement around Defoe to be honest mate, I never made the compariosn.

My opinion on Wickham is that he has ability and should be bullying people, he doesn't.

My thoughts are that he'd rather be away down South and that even if he does well for Palace it won't make me think for one second he would have for us. It's a good sale, a very good sale.

Pretty much sums up how I feel too - I have seen him do it - it's a case of "is me playing like this going to put me on the football map" - i.e. "if I'm playing Chelsea or Man City then I'll do it but why the hell should I against West Brom"

Each to their own but I wouldn't give Murdoch the cheese off my helmet.
I love robbing sky of their subscription & hope it all collapses thus putting all footballers on £1,000 a week.

And that's it mate. We can't carry that, Palace probably can't either but he'll be in London free to swan about the clubs probably smashing a pop star.

He could go either way in his career, but he would be a fail here, I'm certain of it, he's had a long time to make his claims.

Defoe aged 22 scored 70 career goals, to Wickham's 39. Or 38 Premier League goals to Wickham's 11.

Conversion rate at that age, in Premier League goals, Defoe 1 in every 3.26, Wickham 1 in every 7.2 games.

Need to contest this fella. By the time Defoe had reached 22 he'd scored 49 league goals 38 of which were in the Premier League.

The only Jermain Defoe I seen was the one which was frustrated at playing on the left side tracking back all game. It didn't stop him from grafting though and he has always looked like he wants to be here, imo
