Sterling will be a great player. ******ed to compare him to Shaun Wright-Phillips.

I'm disappointed he wants to leave, I wish he wanted to stay. My thoughts are that if i wasn't getting on with my boss I would want to move too. I think he will be a great player, chances are his form has been poor because he has had issues on his mind regarding all of this. I would bet he will regain his form once this is all over. It's just a shame it won't be with Liverpool.

For the record I'm not saying he hasn't acted badly because he has; however he is 20 and naive. I work with 18 year old students everyday and they are inexperienced in life, so at 20 there won't be that much difference. At the end of the day if he can't work with Rogers, then why is it wrong that he wants to leave?

If I was getting paid 100k a week my boss could slap me once a day for every day of my working life <ok>

Then surely you would lack respect for yourself? (I'm not saying you do, nor am I saying you should).

Maybe exagerated for a point, but most people don't like their bosses but if you were being paid 100k a week I reckon you'd put up with it.

Rodgers have him his real chance and made him into the player he is... If he doesn't like te manager that did that for him, I'm not sure

I think that it would be a question of how long for rather than indefinite. For me happiness before the money, but that's personal opinion of course.

It's like this... first two weeks sure you be laughing... third or fourth you would be swallowing it. By the fifth you'd be getting used to te cash and saying do you really need to.

By the sixth you'd be whining and assuming you are entitled to te cash anyway.

When you are in the world where a child gets 35k.... well that 100k doesn't seem so much and frankly he wants te quick route. Wants it easy.

He's proved his not a pro. And actually let's stop forgiving 20 year olds.

They start at 8. See kids every year fall away and get every training on what their job is.

He has 3 years experience as a pro and what his obligations are.l

Don't get me wrong I find it a bizarre reason too and it is probably just an excuse, but taking it at face value and taking Sterlings reason as the truth then I don't think you can begrudge his reason, maybe the execution in some respect, but not the reason.

Yeah but that argument is in the context of what you're currently earning. If you had the option of leaving your boss (who pays you 100k) for more money and greater chance of trophies then you'd obviously leave.

But I'm not convinced that he's leaving because he dislikes Rodgers, I think he's leaving because Man City are a better prospect and will mean he earns more but he just doesn't want to say it, as he's been advised really poorly by his clown of an agent. Plus it seems to be a cardinal sin for a footballer to just admit that he's leaving a club for money.

Maybe he want to leave for the cash and trophies?

Personally I think his current behaviour is under instruction from his agent, as he patently hopes it'll force Liverpool to negotiate with City to get rid of him, as there's simply no going back for him, now he's played "the managers a ****" card.

Sterling will be a good player. His hope is to be carried by a great side. If not, things could quickly turn very bad for him.

Would you still put up with it if Lucius Sweet said he could arrange for you to be paid £200k a week to sit on a bench for the rest of your career and not get slapped?
