Australia produced a golden generation too and our domestic league was pants. Wales currently has a golden generation, and their domestic league is pants. Etc. ... The set up is a ridiculous idea and just because they have a lot of good players coming through at the moment doesn't mean much.
Hull City chase Newcastle wide man Steve Bruce has identified Ryan Taylor as a target as he prepares Hull City for life in the Championship... http://the72.co.uk/30663/hull-city-chase-newcastle-wide-man/? If it's true, I hope it's on a pay-per-play deal.
Think he was mentioned as a possibility a while ago. From the sounds of things from a Toon supporter I know, he seems to be largely over his injuries, but yes I would hope it would be on a low base wage with an appearance-bonus built in.
The thing is, as good as all that sounds, his career in England so far has painted a very different picture and that's what a lot of clubs will be going on. He had three loan spells, two in League 1 and one in the Championship and didn't manage a single goal. His goalscoring record for the England youth is pretty good, but his goals have mostly come against The Faroe Islands (oi oi), Morocco, Estonia and teams of that ilk. I also don't think Arsenal would loan us a player that they've used in their first team if he's going to be third or fourth choice, it wouldn't be beneficial for either party. I suspect one of the strikers we bid for will be that German target man, Sandro Wagner; it looks like it'll be 3-5-2 again (groan) so we'll need big units up front as we ping in cross after cross. I've also heard we're going to push ahead with the Gray deal in the next week and there'll be at least two new faces before the Ferriby game (although they could very well just be trialists).
Posted this about Tayor yesterday. Got it from a mate who knows a girl that works in the club shop. I think he drives a taxi at night - so this info could almost be FACT.
We should also point out to our Aussie friend that the top Welsh teams don't even play in the Welsh League. They play in the English Leagues: Swansea are in the Premier League, Cardiff in the Championship, Newport are in League 2, and Wrexham are in the Conference.
Maybe if City actually signed someone we would go off on a tangent. TWT (Are TWT in the Welsh League? No doubt Tickler with inform us in about three days)
