Talk about sending out mixed messages!! After relegation we are told no panic, all players have relegation clauses in their contracts so we don't need to sell anyone if we choose to. That said clearly we have some players who want to move on, or we would prefer to move on; but to state we need to clear one of three forwards out before we try and get Andre Gray on-board is in my view contradictory, particularly when we have supposedly just bagged the best part of £5m upfront for Ince. Surely its more important to get him on-board and get him settled ASAP irrespective? Secondly what the hell is going on with Brady? If Norwich bid say £2m, and are told we want £9m, why are they coming back with say £2.5 and £3m offers? Clearly Ehab hasn't set out our demands clearly enough if Norwich feel inclined that £3m might get the player? Get your act together man! Norwich did well to get straight back up, they sold one first team player only, Snoddy. Stability is the key and here we are at face value turmoil. The fact 12 months ago we padded out the squad for the Europa League, League Cup and FA Cup and then didn't progress just further undermines the playing opportunities leading to us losing some good Championship players. Finally how can one club have some many younger players with values that are likely to increase entering the final year of their contracts? If they all walk out the door in 12 months we would lose a small fortune in transfer fee's. Right now I've got that off my chest, back to work!
I'm sure we do, but the bid needs to be based on the players value, settlement of the payment is a different issue.
Is it just me or looking at that main picture is Ash turning in to Trigger from Only Fools and Horses
I stand corrected, that said the message remains right, Norwich last Summer by comparison to ourselves now, relatively stable whilst we appear to be going through a mini upheaval!
According to the HDM we're interested in ex Newcastle free agent Ryan Taylor. He was with Bruce at Wigan. He's a bit injury prone though.
There is no bit about it. He is injury prone and we should not touch with a barge pole. He may never have an injury again, but let another club take that chance
I think QPR are interested in Gray. So if we do bid, it will only serve the purpose of flushing out a bid from QPR. I'm sure he'd probably stay in London if that was an alternative.
Sagbo has gone who was one of the four main strikers and Ince, another attacking player so along with the 5M banked, the wages saved and the squad two attackers down I cant see the problem with having to wait and sell to be able to recruit.
I think they'll be waiting until they sell Austin. But as Brentford are also a West London club - it wouldn't require him moving either.
It's a shocking club though, would he want to? It's a **** area too, I lived just around the corner for a year or so, a ****hole if ever there was one
BBC Humberside Sport@HumbersideSport Further to reports, Hull City have confirmed they've rejected 3 bids from Norwich City for Robbie Brady. The last of which was £3m. #hcafc Taking the piss.
