Any Orwell fans too? My mates brother is only like 12 and he's got his entire works, and has read them all. Several times. Makes me sad, I was never reading that much at his age. The kids mental.

Yuhuh, that was me haha. This picture! Love Kafka. And yeah, I remember! I remember being rather jealous of that too ha.

And yeah, that's the one! Sounds good, can't wait. Depp does some fantastic films.

Read Adrian Mole sitting by the pool in Barbados. Had my back to a hedge to avoid the sun and a sun hat on but woke up the next morning and couldn't put my feet on the ground. The refection off the pool had given me major burns to my legs and feet and the sister had to burst the blisters (the whole length of the shins) and the floor was flooded with what came out.

Aye you did the same as me and we didn't study Catcher in the Rye, but To Kill A Mockingbird instead. The lower tier did Catcher in the Rye though. Still not got round to reading it myself.
Cba to double quote so aye AH, The Great Shark Hunt is a real easy read as it's just a collection of articles, thoughts and letters he wrote. Documents a lot of his life though through them and shows how he met the British Illustrator, Ralph Steadman, who went on to do the illustrations for all his future works including Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas.

I hate Orwell with a passion like no other. A whole two years of English lessons on Animal Farm and 1984 have worn away any nice thoughts and have given rise to a hatred so powerful that I want to hack the computer with an axe just for typing his name...

Totally envy Depp for his relationship with Hunter; Hunter himself was known to consider Depp as one of his soulmates!

Never did To Kill a Mockingbird myself. The lower tiers in my school did Kestrel for a Knave... over and over again for 2 years apparently <laugh> Felt rather sorry for them.
Sounds amazing. Absolutely loved Fear and Loathing and Rum Diary, must read more! I'll get around to buying a large chunk of his works when I've got some more money. (eBay is the place to be for books. Bought Less Than Zero for 99p + free postage <diva>)

<laugh> Bless ya. Aye, doing books repetitively in schools does take the enjoyment out of them! We only did Animal Farm in school, read 1984 in my own time. Still loved reading Animal Farm though. Did it in like year 9 and I knew a lot about Soviet Russia and such already so I just found it all extremely interesting. A girl in my class (who is now my current girlfriend...) asked me once how and why I knew so much about it <laugh>

I read Animal Farm and 1984 at school and loved them. But I do know where you are coming from. I also had to read a book called The Autobiography of a Supertramp by WH Davies and I bloody hated it, it almost put me off reading.

Funny thing is I found a copy at a jumble sail about ten years ago and bought it, thinking i'd thumb through and see if I still hated it as much. But to my surprise I thought it was brilliant. Incredibly interesting story and I really don't know why I hated it the first time around.

How many girls are there in your class? You seem to have a different girl from your class every week. You're not a sex maniac are you?

I think it's a case of actually HAVING to read that puts you off reading. Well, that's what it's like with me anyway <laugh> I've actually read MORE since I finished this uni year. I like reading what I want, at my own pace, rather than having to read this book this week, then that book the next week, and so on
I'm probably doing the wrong subject <laugh>
