See you've made a statement in your sig anyway.

<laugh> oh yeah, changed it when it was all kicking off the other day. forgot about it to be honest.

Stalking at night again then :bandit:

I've been lurking for a while. Very bored tonight. I was almost considering making a thread on books <yikes> <yikes> The feeling subsided very quickly though, that thread woulda sunk rather quickly

Just reading through The Great Shark Hunt by Hunter S Thompson atm; I have a plan to read all his books by the end of the year. May manage the end of July the way I go through books!

Brilliant! Love Hunter S Thompson, not read that one though. I've just read Catcher in the Rye for the first time, took me a while to actually get round to reading it to be honest considering it's an easy book to read! Just about to embark on reading Bret Easton Ellis' works myself, starting with Less Than Zero (when it gets delivered) then American Psycho as I've already got that.

The Hungry Caterpillar. Bloody good read

Also have to read Kafka's The Trial and Joyce's Portrait of an Artist as a Young Man (amongst other Joyce works, and some Conrad) too for uni, which'll be good as I've been meaning to read them for aaages and it'll give me an excuse.

I'll check it out over summer :) Apparently one called the Rum Diaries or something like that is quite good? I heard they were making a film of it

Yeah Rum Diaries is a biggie, pretty good! Yeah, think Depp's in it?

Anyone read Naked Lunch? It's a bit like Fear and Loathing times a million. Not read it all, only parts, extremely hard book to follow!

Thought 'Catcher In The Rye' was one of the first books that everybody read. Weren't you steered towards it at school?

Yeah I know haha, it's meant to be one of those rites of passage type books. But nahh, we never did it. We did stuff like Frankenstein, Dracula, Clockwork Orange, Lord of the Flies etc. All still fantastic books too. But I just never got round to reading Catcher in the Rye 'cuz I was busy reading everything else first.

Aye I've heard that too with Johnny Depp.
The book is canny as well; it sort of documents his experiences mixed in with the experiences of those he met/befriended whilst he worked in San Juan but written into a fictional storyline.
