Chievo are apparently pressing ahead with a deal for Abel Hernandez, they've offered €750,000 for a season long loan, with a transfer clause of £5.6m if they want him. http://www.football-italia.net/68341/chievo-close-abel-hernandez?
That's not a bad deal for us really, we might be able to push them a little higher on the initial fee.

if you think that is a good deal, can I buy your house off you at 56% of the purchase price you paid?
I'd rather sell Hernandez, if he stinks it up on loan elsewhere we'd end up getting even less for him.
More than likely. If we do loan him we should insert a recall clause on the rare chance that he starts the season on fire...might get more for him from another Italian club that way. Neither will happen though...whoever is negotiating our loan deals needs the boot
Clubs don't pay a loan fee and accept a recall clause, one of the reasons clubs pay a fee at all, is precisely so it can't be cancelled during the season,
I wouldn't think we would consider a loan even if there is a fee involved, it just doesn't make sense. if we cannot get back what we want play him in the championship. we bought him from the Italian second tier....
He'd be a disaster. It isn't as simple as dropping down a level and suddenly you're a lot better. He can't cope with the physical demands of English football and that'll be even more of a problem in the Championship. If we get someone to pay his wages for a year and give us a fee as well that'd be a good deal. Only problem is we'd have to find him another club a year later.
So you would be happy with £500K for a season loan then 'if' they want him they can buy him a year later when his stock has probably gone down anyway.......... We got more for Cairneys sale yesterday. Sounds a bad deal for me. At this stage i guess its just paper talk, sounds like all 3 want away strikers will be going its just a case of when and where.
