It's July next week and Saints have only signed 3 players....what are they doing at SMS....quoits? An interesting point...how long does a new signing keep us fans happy? I need at least one signing a week or I get the yips, so my estimate is 3-6 days. And if other teams (even those I don't care about) buy players (I've never heard of) I need one signing per day.

If someone else makes a signing, and we don't immediately after, I'm all:

Signing Cabaye, Clasie and Toby sounds more like bankruptsy to me?

If the prices being thrown about are accurate we would break even. Schneiderlin (25m) and Clyne (15m) are rumored at a combined total of 40m and Clasie (12m) Toby (18m) and Cabaye (10m) would be the same, not counting wages. I don't think this will happen btw, but it wouldn't send us broke if it did.

Note: 10m price-tag for Cabaye was from the Mail, i would've thought he'd be more but they're the only ones quoting a figure that i found.

Also, I'd imagine we are going to spend more than we receive on transfers this summer, aswell as potentially increasing the wage bill. Doesn't neccassaeily mean bankruptcy haha. We made a profit of what, £30/40m last financial year? Some of that is due to be invested.

And that financial year did not include player sales of circa £90M last season. We are in fact rudely solvent.

I don't even think our wage bill would differ that greatly if we signed said players. Ramirez, Osvaldo, MS, Clyne and Mayuka will clear up a lot of wages between them and our over all budget will have increased from last season, where we made a very healthy profit.

It would probably get smaller.
