West Ham set to sign Dimitri Payet from Marseille. £10.7m fee agreed, 60k per week. Medical Friday.
Good player but will wait and see if he can adapt to the English game.

Edit: Payet will get £10k appearance fee.

I agree. Don't let the door bang you on the arse as you leave, Morgs.

:cheesy:

Sad to see him go but he has given everything to the club and stuck with us through thick and thin. Clubs cut their losses ruthlessly when players lose the edge or suffer serious injury, has to go both ways. Its a short career at the end of the day. All the best to Morgan I say. Just better be off to CL football!

After he settled down when denied an exit, I hoped to be grown up when he left....obviously not as grown up as I thought. :(
Nah, you be as bitter and twisted as you want, Fran. You helped the dosh get into his pocket. There's no written rule on how you must behave when a player leaves or in the manner in which he leaves.

From my view, I have been resigned to it for ages, so it's no big deal. The other day I thought the CL clubs had lost interest, but it appears they haven't. No problem. I will look forward to beating them next season with adequate or better replacements.

Fernando Torres as well, cost Chelsea £40 million from Liverpool and was nowhere near as good for them. But Liverpool want the same for Sterling as they got for Suarez last year, which is ridiculous.

I may be wrong but I think Torres cost Chelsea £50m not £40m, and we want £50m for Sterling (which I agree, is overpriced as he's probably worth £25-30m max), which isn't the same as what we sold Suarez for as we sold him for £75m.

Correct me if I am wrong though buddy. :):p

Weren't the Carroll and Torres fees freakish because Liverpool told Chelsea they wanted the price of Carroll plus £15m for Torres?

I stand corrected, thank you. The main point was, as you agree, Sterling isn't worth anything like £50 million. For a start, he's never played a single game for Southampton. :emoticon-0136-giggl

If we signed Cabaye and Clasie, and kept hold of Toby, **** me we would have a good chance of breaking into the top four.

Totally agree. Cabaye has both premier and European experience, and Clasie is young and hungry to prove himself. Would also be ironic if Cabeye replaces Morgan in both the Saints team, and keeps ahead of him in the France team? Fun times ahead
