I bow to your greater knowledge Sparks. Just thought I would put up a "news" item that hadn't been on here before. I agree that the money could be a teensie weensie bit of a problem. He's probably happy to sit on his expanding lard arse with us and take the cash for another year. Boy we gave away some appalling contracts in the last year or two. Never mind the bank of Mum and Dad, it's the bottomless Tan bank that's getting creamed.
Hey Bluey - any news is worth a punt pal - even if it's Morro crapping in the street......... The Aussie A league and Jap J league games are a pleasure to watch. Even the South Korea K Classic and China Super leagues are packed with skill. The Aussies have the power and drive whilst the Japs, Koreans and Chinese play some of the most precise passing football I've ever seen. Talking of Bothroyd as I was on another thread, he's playing for Jubilo Iwata in the Jap J2 (second tier) league and is having a ball with his skills - look at this last week........
True Nin but also one of the laziest (KWJ gets my vote for top of the pile on that one). A pity as he could have done much more.
Seen some of the girlie world cup. Some good skills there. A mismatch in some of the games, but good skills none the less.
Today's starter for 10 from WoL: - http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/...rdiff-city-transfer-rumours-bluebirds-9423762 Do City want to keep Mason or are they holding out for more? He's a good lad, runs the channels well and a team player but lacks some of the attributes needed to take us forward - first touch not always good, not as quick as we would like him to be and ineffective in the air. If they offered £2m then it is worth considering.
Not an unexpected response. Why would a 28 year old international player give up the Prem to drop down a division to face a war of a season with us? Pardew will be expecting Palace to kick on next season and Ledley would want to be part of that. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/former-cardiff-city-star-joe-9420704
One of the best times of the year this. No City games to get the blood pressure jumping. Lot's of transfer gossip. New kit awaited. Fixtures out in 7 days time; then the countdown to the first games.
Liverpool have signed Adam Bogdan from Bolton so presumably thats an end to any interest that they had in David Marshall. Reports say it was a free transfer so Liverpool have saved themselves a few quid on any transfer fee City might have wanted. So is this a good or bad thing from City's viewpoint? We certainly have an able replacement in Simon Moore should Marshall depart and there is no doubt we could use the money to invest in strengthen the midfield.
Looks like this knocks the Marshie rumour on the head: - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33107895 Bu££er, BT beat me to it but didn't include the link. Yah boo sucks!!! I suggested he post it an hour ago so I put this up as he was too slow!!!. I see Leeds have signed the young Canadian keeper Horton from us so that should put paid to rumours of them wanting to sign Moore.
Rangers have done a deal with Mark Warburton so thats another manager some said would be good for City that won't be coming to the CCS http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33125007
Could do with some positive news on players coming in now. Looks like Dwight Gayle going to Bournemouth - we could not afford the supposed £10m the Cherries are paying anyway. Wolves supposed to be upping their bid to take Mason from us to nearer the £3m we apparently want. If they do then we should snap their hands off provided the money is available for reinvestment and not snaffled "offshore". Sensible article in WoL yesterday. Might be used towards Murphy from Ipswich but the reported £3m to £4m is a lot of money for a 32 year old. I don't think that would be a wise purchase. I wouldn't pay more than £1m max.
