What great news for football, I just hope with all these nations voting that supported Blatter, that the next president is credible.
He has had people like Heather Rabbatts and David Gill giving him the finger, He has UEFA threatening who knows what, He has members of his committee either under arrest or having to try and avoid it any of whom may have 'coughed'. He was never going to stay in post for long. I would love to find which of the above tipped him over the edge but it's about time the slimy little turd got what's coming to him.
Well I don't agree with some of his ideas at UEFA, but probably not a bad choice if it turns out to be him.
I don't understand why he's suddenly decided to go now he didn't give a dam a couple of days ago what anybody thought of him !!
HALLEFUCKINGLUJAH A superb day in the history of football. To quote D:Ream, things can only get better. Even if it's Platini.
Could be to do with this letter from the South Africa for the $10m which FIFA said they had no involvement with, then when it was produced it was address to Jérôme Valcke who is Blatters right hand man. This matter was then getting closer to Blatter.
FIFA should be dissolved as an organisation. It's corrupt to the core. Any new leadership team would forever have the past in their shadows. UEFA, along with other main footballing nations should take the lead in setting up a new organisation that has a true representation of the footballing world. Lesser footballing nations should not be involved in the running of world football, they should benefit in the way of guidance & controlled financial development. Now is the time for the stronger & financially secure world associations to show strength in unity.
Surely they don't think they can just carry on as normal with all the legal proceedings on the go? FIFA should be put into some sort of administration, let outside agencies run it and oversee a clean-up.
Agree, just feel the corruption run very deep within Blatter's supporters circles, and its not going to be easy to clean it up, don't forget at the moment Blatters supporters ,hold the balance of power so something big got to change before the election, or otherwise were going to end up with a Blatter puppet in charge.
I didn't expect him to quit for anyone. I had visions of him being frog-marched out of his office by US officials. I agree that something significant has happened since the vote. He maybe needs to now expend ALL of his energies on legal matters. I'm sure we will find out soon.
Exactly what I said a few days ago. Congo, Botswana, Mali and Sierra Leone can all be each in other pockets and united together have more say than a combined alliance of England, Germany and Italy in where future World Cups are held.
His resignation is probably the only thing he has got right throughout his whole tenure. He makes Allam seem almost norm...... oh hang on a minute.
Agree it needs dissolving completely and the administration of football restarting from scratch. Let's get it right this time.
