Excuse my ignorance but, where does it give the United States the right to go around and put whoever under investigation. What does FIFA have to do with the USA. Im not sticking up for Blatter here, I would just like to know, what makes the yanks think they are the rulers of the world.

Let's take this specific situation. The bribes occurred through American banking institutions, some of the bribes occurred in the USA, some of the bribes were planned in the USA, American companies were involved in bribes, individuals who are Americans did not report bribes on their income taxes, corporations that gave bribes did not report said bribes in their taxes, the focus is on CONCCAF who's headquarters is located in,,,,,,,the USA. So I hope that clears that up. The question shouldn't be why we feel we have the right to prosecute criminals who commit crimes through corporations and institutions that are on our soil the question should be why the rest of the world made the choice to ignore crimes committed on their soil.

Why go after FIFA instead of someone else. In general our prosecutors are elected. That means that there is a need to make ones career on a high profile case. So it's very very common that prosecutors try to make large cases against orgs, serial killers etc anything high profile. Example Rudy Guliani, he became mayor of New York and ran for President, he got his start as the first Prosecuter to use RICO to go after the Mafia. Now the DOJ isn't elected but it's the same type of mentality. People used the opportunity to go after FIFA instead of some other case because it would be high profile. While that might seem cynical, does anyone around the world really care about our motivation, or just the result?

As to why we feel the need to charge people who are not Americans for crimes (which we do literally all the time). There are two main reasons. People involve themselves in conspiracies to have others commit crimes in the U.S. such as cartels, drug orgs etc. or they use American banking institutions to conduct illegal activities. The first we use because, well crimes are being committed here the second for 2 reasons. 1 because American companies are breaking numerous U.S. laws by using illegal profits for their own profit and 2 because we use the fact that almost every banking transaction in the world involves a U.S. institution as a foreign policy tool when it comes to having the ability to bring charges against anyone we want in the world whenever we want.

We think we are rulers of the world because we have the highest GDP and largest extension of global power. Now we will stop acting like imperialists trying to pass our way of life and rules on the rest of the world when the rest of the world no longer accepts it, it's really as simple as that. Just as one could ask the question as why the English thought they could rule the world and had the right to do whatever they wanted for centuries. I'm in no way pro-USA, I am actually an Anarchist, but if one wants to look at why one set of people want power over another set of people the question answers itself really as its all about wealth and oppression.

I have to think some of your questions were just, screw the U.S., and that's cool, I'm with you there, but if you really want to understand power dynamics and imperialism and why we act the way we do there are plenty of books I could recommend for you.

Well plus all the other nations that helped a bit too.

Not to mention that the Germans helped us beat them as well by making a couple of key decisions wrongly.

Anyhoo I'm grateful the U.S. Did this because sure as hell no other nation was going to do anything about it.

Independent auditors need to move in and do a root and branch overhaul BEFORE any further election is done. All the corrupt should be given the red card.
