Hull City: Out-of-contract Liam Rosenior to leave the Tigers

LIAM Rosenior will leave Hull City at the end of his contract next month after being told he would no longer be offered an extended deal at the KC Stadium.

Rosenior was informed today that his services would no longer be required and he becomes the first victim of City’s relegation from the Premier League.

The popular full-back will depart having made 161 appearances for the Tigers following his arrival as a free agent in October 2010.

As well as helping City climb out of the Championship in 2012-13, he was in the starting XI for the club’s historic FA Cup final defeat to Arsenal 12 months ago.

Although Rosenior was limited to just five Premier League starts this season, the news of his imminent departure has come as a surprise.

The 30-year-old had been close to agreeing terms on a new two-year deal before all negotiations over extensions were put on ice as City fought against the drop.

Rosenior had also spoken of his desire to move into coaching and had spent time working with City’s academy this season. It had been expected that he would play a key role in the club’s return to the Championship.

No as i can not be bothered going through websites to prove the point that none of the decisions to get rid of any of our players over the last few seasons have been poor.

They would have been here from the start of the season, so IMO, we would not have been bottom 3 so there would have been no season to turnaround

Hmmm apart from Evans who was pretty average for us and I wasn't accurate. I'm struggling to see how I made up anything

You honestly believe Fryatt would have made a difference and Cairney in midfield. Jesus. Well we will do ok in the Championship with that attitude.

I wasn't at all bothered about Evans leaving, I just don't like people trying to prove a point by making completely inaccurate claims. Cairney's more than capable of playing in the Premier League, I was sorry to see him go and the same is true of Fryatt, who's better than the ****er we just paid £10m for.

We played Sagbo and Aluko upfront. My gran (god rest her soul) could have done better.
So, yes I do believe Fryatt could have done a job.

Hudd & Liversalts were **** this season. Anyone would have thought they were on something. So, again yes Cairney over them.

I think claiming that Cairney would be good in the Premiership is inaccurate. Based on nothing. Hernandez has been terrible apart from his start. However, i don't know if we just have the ability of finding complete tosh or Brucey doesn't know how to attack. I believe we were one of the lowest scoring teams to obtain automatic promotion. (not based on evidence, grapevine ****)

This is the one good thing I take from this, If we're selling rosie who covers both sides, you'd assume we're expecting to keep robbo and/or brady. I thought they might well be on their way.

I liked Rosy as a player and would have liked him to stay how ever if the management think young Lenihan is good enough to challenge for the first team then if we keep Elmo then you have two for the full back spot. Lets not forget cut backs will have to be made and quite a few will go yet. if a player is on £10.000 a week its a million pound over a two year contract. Still sad to see Leroy go though but changes will happen.

Shame to see him move on, but you can't run a club on sentiment. Of the 161 games he player he rarely had a bad game, but he has hardly played for the last couple of seasons, granted some of it due to injury

We've big hopes for Lenihan but how are we meant to see him in action if he is 3rd ranked right back. We already have two left backs plus a couple of younger ones waiting in the wings for the chance.

Rosie has been a good servant to the club - I wish him well wherever he moves to

    It's the right decision.
For those players with existing contracts, it will take time to move them on.
The four who were out of contract were in that position for a reason. Their renewals was dependant on our survival.
    We didn't.
Say goodbye to McShane, Bruce jr and Quinn (within the next 48 hours)
