    More on the Austin rumour..

I don't think the likes of the dippers, Chelsea or Man Utd would be in for the lad.

He just doesn't seem to be a big enough 'name' so to speak.

Having said that if we could get him for £10m it would be a reet bargain in my book.

In addition to this I'd make a cheeky bid for Hoillet at QPR too as he's got 12 months left on his contract.

All of this of course depends on us staying in the Prem...

Newcastle FAVOURITES to beat Liverpool, Chelsea and Man Utd to £10m striker Charlie Austin
NEWCASTLE have emerged as favourite to land QPR striker Charlie Austin in the summer.

The 25-year-old failed to keep QPR in the Premier League this season, but his tally of 17 goals has attracted a host of top-flight clubs.
Recent reports suggested Liverpool were leading the chase for his services as Brendan Rodgers looks for a long-term Rickie Lambert replacement, but Ladbrokes have backed Newcastle at 6/4 to land him.

The Magpies are in the market for a goalscorer in the summer due to the inconsistent form of forwards Papiss Cisse, Emmanuel Riviere and Ayoze Perez.
Austin joining the Reds is at 5/1, while Chelsea (20/1) and Manchester United (25/1) are outside runners for the England hopeful.

Charlie Austin tipped to join Newcastle in the summer
QPR are allegedly open to offers in the region of £10million, having signed him two years ago from Burnley for less than half of that.
Jack Beresford of the bookmakers said: "Austin’s 17 Premier League goals may not have prevented QPR from going down but they have been enough to convince punters that his future lies in the Premier League next season."

If do buy him... we need a good player maker and a winger, but he's only good with the right service.

Right now, our strikers are getting little to no service, which is why Cisse was anonymous, and Rivier was only a battering ram.

Perez scored from a support position.

Two words - Rolando Aarons Another two words - Demarai Gray Another two words - Will Hughes.

Result? Supply line sorted for Ings and Austin. Just buy Shawcross and Ben Gibson and we are all good. Oh and Mings and Trippier. Maybe a touch of Tom Heaton.

Just the 8 to buy <laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh>

I'd sell Colo, Gouf, Jonas, Cisse, Ferraya, Riviere, Sameobi, Tiote, Marveaux, Vuckic, Willo, Santon, Raylor, Elliott, Alnwick. So 15 to go.

Just look at that list of ****e we have amassed.

Reality is though nobody like a Gray, Gibson, Ings, Austin, Hughes, Mings would **** up their career by coming here.

I think we should add a poll to this, who would people prefer, Ings or Austin?

Ings is younger, Austin has scored about twice as many this year...

We won't get either... But it's an interesting choice.

My bad - offload would be a better choice of words. Preferably off the back of a cruiseliner. North Shields does have its uses <laugh>

In reality, if we stay up Ashley will not change his ideas one iota. Why should he? His model works. He thinks " This year is down to Pardew ****ing off early, that wasnt in my planning . And look at all the loverly lolly coming my way over the next few seasons. **** off Newcastle fans, I dont care, I just want the money now, dont care about the club, just as long as we can stay in the division by spending the bare minimum, and I will be here for a very long time, Ha Ha Ha Ha""

This is the Realiy of our situation.!

    ****INGTWAT!!

Yep. And if we go down, it'll just be streamline-streamline-streamline, employ Carver. For the fans, complete lose-lose. For Ashley it's win-don't care.

Think you are slightly underestimating Ashley.

He does like money and being in the Premiership is the key to making money. He will be very aware that his investment is two bad results away from depreciating significantly. He won't want that to happen this season or next.

if we stay up, I would expect at decent striker and a CB. This would still leave us about 6 players light of a decent squad but should stay off relegation. Austin at £10m would be about right. Not too pricey, young and with potential to appreciate in value.

If we go down he will keep enough of the current squad and pay enough for new players to make sure we come back up. He may be evil. He isn't stupid.

    Agree.

When we stay up expect investment but not to the extent the fans want. Also mentioned previously I would expect "significant" investment to keep us in the Premier League this summer mainly because it is expected prices will go up next summer when the latest financial increase in Sky money will take effect. (I actually think that money would be paid by Sky in 2 summers time but like the last increase most clubs will spend it before they get it.)

If we go down he will maintain enough of our current "stars" to try and come straight back up.

I think there will be the usual half hearted approach regardless. It will be geared towards achieving mid to lower table loveliness. Its not a football club. Its a hollow husk of a business used to advertise another business.

I'd much prefer Ings over Austin. I find the latter abit of a malignant **** for some reason. I can also see him going to a London based club, probably Spurs.
