Slightly off topic but I think this is an important point anyway The Tories in the past couple of years have stopped charities from being able to carry out and publisise activities that are critical of the government, threatened the BBC with cuts to licence fee if it's too critical of government policy and now they are rigging our voting system to ensure that is less proportional and the chances of a tory majority are greatly increased We really are dealing with a bunch of proto-fascist bastards.
So you're not Bitter then! Despite the best efforts of the BBC the Country decided to elect a Conservative majority Government which in truth was the only credible option. Labour could be out of power for at least decade while they navel gaze and embark on a fresh wave of internecine blood letting. Labour just aren't a credible party of Government so best get used to it!
I think whoever said they are going to need the police and fire service was spot on. If they organise a demo I'm going. Maybe it needs a few Champagne Socialists to give them a run for their money. Come on Comrade 1950! I feel some 1968 nostalgia coming on.
The BBC have a tory director general, a tory political editor. The economics editor came out and said that the BBC was allowing the Daily Mail and the Telegraph to set the agenda and that bosses at the BBC were not prepared to report anything outside of that. Independent studies have also shown that the BBC carries far more pro Tory guests than any other party. But none of that fits with the narrative aye so the mail ignores it
The BBC also has a former Labour Cabinet Minister as a senior director of policy but don't let that get in the way of the truth.
http://www.newstatesman.com/broadcast/2013/08/hard-evidence-how-biased-bbc A good read regarding BBC bias, as always facts are the best defence against tories
of course the New statesman will pick up on research that fits with its agenda, but that doesn't undermine the aims or results of the research it was reporting
Slightly off topic but what do you guys think about the so called 'socialist' demonstrators defacing that war memorial? If that's what socialism stands for then **** 'em, make an example of them and lock them up, absolutely disgusting. That's the sort of thing that makes ME ashamed to be British!
Defacing the war memorial was awful, can't believe anyone would stoop that low. Whilst we're talking about press bias though, it's interesting that as far as I can see that's the only bit of the protests the BBC have reported, not the large peaceful element to protests in London and Cardiff.
So what's this about grandparents then you twat? One of mine was a Sgt machine gunner in the trenches and the other was killed on a minesweeper in 1917 off Lowestoft. And before you put up your stupid emoticon google "Zinoviev Letter". Still,at least now your bitter personal hatred of Hughton is explained.
What do people think about the abolishment of the Human Rights Act? And Michael Gove as Justice Sec? Sounds a horrific idea to me. It is a shame some people have to stoop to such low levels in order to protest.
