So is his donation more worthy than Allams as it's done in private? It's all worthy. People give for different reasons and don't all want it to be done in public. No need to pit one against the other. If he does give large amounts of his own cash then why feel the need to piss all over someone else who does the same.

Well done the trust on their donation too. cancer patients are grateful whoever gives and whatever amount. It's not a competiton ffs.

He's mentioned previously on here (I think) or maybe CI that he donates to charity. Sometime last season a mutual friend mentioned how generous he is without giving me details and I didn't ask. I just think you are barking up the wrong tree if you have a go at him for not donating to charity.

He clearly is having a go at someone giving a large amount of money to a charitable cause. Something you say he does himself. He obviously does tell people he gives or no one would know. Is your point, and his, that his donations are more worthy than Allams? Sounds like it.

Everyone has the right to sneer at Allam's charity work, because when it suits him he's a generous philanthropist, and when it doesn't he's a ruthless, don't give a **** about anyone else type. He loves both images too much to just pick one.

If one week you're criticising the other 19 Premier League clubs for giving out freebies and coming out with the sickening quote I posted earlier in this thread which implies that everyone not as rich as you is just a scrounging bastard, then the next you're asking the local paper to publicise your latest charity donations so everyone will see what a wonderfully nice bloke you are, people are going to sneer a bit.

I didn't want to give it a thread of it's own, I just wanted to drop it in somewhere and it was in absolutely no way meant to be a competitive comparrison.

I think it's a shame that Assem isn't as thoughtful and caring with all his decisions, but that doesn't detract from this being a generous action.

Not he may or may not. He does give money to charity and generously. I see you agree with Charon that giving money to charity doesn't excuse people's behaviour.
