The cause you were fighting for can't have been that important to you in the scheme of things then.

Hull City AFC ceasing to be is the worst thing that could happen to it. Keeping our club but playing at a slightly lower level is nowhere near as bad.

We look pretty likely to go down anyway, and fans being utterly fed up of the horrible man in charge won't affect that either way.

Yes sadly it will .....and I won't be going to watch the new club that he wants to start in it's place.

You really think he wouldn't want to sign a winger who has scored ten goals in sixteen games ?

Where did I say it was the 'best thing to want'? I didn't say I want us to get relegated, in an ideal world I'd rather watch Hull City in the Premier League. You said we should be concentrating on the football over the name change and I disagree, the name change is 100 times more important than our relegation battle.

Erm,. that's not saying we want to be relegated at all is it? And is FAR from exactly that.

You made out that relegation wasn't a big deal and that you enjoyed lower league football more. Pardon me for coming to the conclusion I did <doh>

As for the name being 100 times more important than relegation. I think you're way wrong tbh. Lose your PL status this season and you might never return. Even if Allam gets his way (which looks unlikely) and he did change the name, he's not going to be around for long anyway, it's a moniker that doesn't alter the history of your club, and he's merely the custodian. Once he ****s off (which given his age surely won't be that far off) then any new owner coming in could simply change it back. The same could not be said for your PL status.

I'm pretty sure he played behind the striker in a 1-1 position rather than a 2. And that's precisely where he played for U21s.

It isn't a big deal and I did enjoy lower league football. I didn't say I enjoyed it more, I said most of my best memories are from there but that's cos 95% of the matches I've seen were played there That's not saying I want relegation is it?

If he changes the name then Hull City doesn't exist and I won't support an English football club. A Championship club is better than no club at all.

There's 2 reasons for wanting relegation, Tobes.

Firstly, People are looking for an easy way of getting him out.

He's come out with all this bullshit in the last two years of "if i don't get my way i'll walk" and yet he's still here. This includes reneging on all his other promises as well. Realisitcally, City fans can only see one way of getting him out and finishing all this nonsense for good without it dragging on much longer.

It's not just the club's name & badge anymore, it's the community he's trying to **** up now.

Secondly, it;s not very enjoyable seeing your team playing without any passion most weeks.

A good mate of mine's a big Evertonian, he just doesn't understand it all either. He doesn't really think much to the name change and thinks staying in the PL is by far the biggest thing. They have a nice chairman, a club that cares about its fans, they've been treated to consecutive top flight football for longer than most of their fans lives, they're a big club and can at least challenge at the top end of the table. I guess they just don't see it the same way as us.

And also, I want to be relegated. The premier league is a **** circus and had we always been a top flight club I probably wouldn't be half as much a football fan as I am. Hull City is never going to challenge at the top end of the table or achieve anything of note, it's nice to experience the quality of football for a bit now and then but it's **** and boring.

Bouncing around the lower leagues is far more enjoyable, and doesn't cost your lifes earnings either. Literally the only thing I'd miss is the ability to watch most away games via a stream. That's it.

I'd agree that's how it looked on paper, but just like when Aluko or Ramirez play up front, he ended up at the top playing with his back to goal the whole time. Players like him need to be on the wing running at people.

Dead honest that, good post mate <ok>

I can understand that perfectly as well, as you've seen what the other side of football looks like and overall you prefer it, given where Hull City sit when they get a seat at the top table. You're also right about us not knowing anything else but top flight for a lifetime, relegation terrifies us, as we've seen so many others drop and disappear out of sight.

Interesting that you think we've got a nice Chairman and a club that cares about its fans, as there's a decent amount of Evertonians who'd laugh in your face if you said that to them, as they see old Bill as the anti Christ.

I spent 45 years thinking that my experiences of following City would be enhanced the higher up the league we played. Around November 2008 I realised this wasn't the case. Apparrent success on the field does not always equate to greater enjoyment off it.
