Guess we will see him at City next season when Pellgerini gets sacked. The timing is right on the money, just as City start to fail miserably, they put in a call to Klopp, offer him the world and now all of a sudden he has asked to leave Dortmund
Ironically, had he asked to leave this time last year, he would've been United manager by now. But i agree with you, i think we'll see him in the premier league next season.
Thought he'd be ideal for Arsenal but seems Wenger has brought himself another year by bagging another top 4 trophy. City will be the only top 7 club likely to change their manager so that's the only realistic destination in England. Though I wouldn't bet against seeing him at Real and taking Hummels and Reus with him. The wheels have come off at Dortmund this year. When they were winning things I'm sure it was a great club to be at but since Bayern took their 2 best players and form has dropped, clearly some of the top players and the manager are now feeling they need to get out quick to reignite their careers.
Makes sense really. He resisted leaving Dortmund for the last few years even though they sold his best player(s) every season, as he felt they were building something special together regardless of the player sales and they were having massive success (in Bundesliga and CL). But now that they've had such a poor domestic season, if he knows that they're planning on selling his top players again it would make sense to make a move now. He managed to get them out of trouble (relegation-wise), but must feel that both him and the club need a change. I'm sure many of his players will be looking for a move and feeling that the writing is on the wall as a consequence of the poor season, players getting sold and the manager potentially leaving. I say potentially leaving because it's not official until at least 5 articles have been posted on this board quoting random twitter sources confirming the fact.
Would be unfair to Carlo to sack him. Poor batard was already unfairly sacked by us imo. He won them that coveted 10th CL trophy they all pined for. Unless the team has a meltdown and finishes outside the top 4 or something catastrophic like that, it would be extremely harsh on Carlo to let him go. Unless he leaves off his own accord of course. But this is Real Madrid of course, so **** knows what they will do. Pellegrini is almost certain to get sacked at the end of the season, no trophy = sacked. Especially if he finishes outside the top 3. I cannot see City accepting that
Think he might go Real over City if the job is available. Klopp doesnt strike me as a City manager. Especially considering how old Citys squad is and how Klopp opperates as a manager. City are not the only ones likely to change manager. Last years nearly men will probably look into the possibility of giving Rodgers the boot. Hes failed brilliantly.
Not so sure he would be. Dortmund are unique and in no way similar to either club. Funnily enough, Atletico Madrid would be perfect for him.
Yeah I agree they're both very different clubs but he's leagues ahead of Pellegrini and Rodgers. Would have no trouble attracting the right players as well which I think is clearly something that Rodgers can't do.
True, but if we assume he is leaving Dortmund at least partly due to his best players being sold out from under him, would he really want more of the same at Liverpool? Apparently he is also looking at taking a bit of a break from football, so if Liverpool or City want him they may have to stick with their current no hopers for another season and hope. They probably wouldn't want to end up like Chelsea with Guardiola, particularly as they don't have their own versions of Mourinho in the wings as backup options.
Think he would fail at City but do reasonably well with Liverpool. Hes never been one for signing established stars. He prefers going for unknowns and making them stars. Not sure that approach would work at City or Liverpool.
Take a break until Bayern job is available when Pep takes a break next summer. Klopp to Bayern 2016/17? Pep to United 2017/18 when van Gaal retires?
Would definitely work at Liverpool, as all the established 'stars' they sign seem to turn into Andy Carroll, Stewart Downing or Adam Lallana...
Holy long term planning Batman! But then where will Mourinho go after he gets sacked next summer when Chelsea finish second?
Back to italy where for once, his side wont look slow, dull and bus like? Mourinho doesnt care. He would probably go Arsenal or City if Chelsea sacked him, again.
Mourinho to Liverpool would be funny as ****. wonder how the Chelsea fans would react if Liverpool abused him as much as Chelsea abused Benitez?
