But it actually went ahead and we lost. The way I know that is because an Academy player posted it on Twitter. Not a word from the Club.

There's still nothing about it on the OS. One step forward and one step back for the comms.

It finished Charlton 0 Bristol City 2 at a sparse Park View Road. Guy Luzon was there and i got to speak to him and thanked him for the way he is turning around matters on the pitch. He won't be impressed with what happened in the next 90 Minutes. The under 21s were very poor and throughout the whole game they only fashioned 2 to 3 chances. Ansah had the best of the chances but it was brilliantly cleared off the line.
It was good to see Wiggins complete 45 minutes on his road back from injury. There was a bizarre incident at the end when The Assistant referee flagged for a penalty but was overruled by the Referee who wasn't in a great position to see it.
I have not been impressed by the Under 21s this Season, they are lacking, especially in forward positions.

    Team

    Mitov
    Pyke, Thomas, Lennon, Wiggins
    Cook, Muldoon, Munns,
    Kennedy, Ansah, Ahearne- Grant

Subs Edwards for Wiggins, Hanlan for Kennedy, Gerard for Munns.

We drew 3-3 away to QPR with goals from Kennedy 2 and Ahearne- Grant .According to Ketts.
One player who did not feature in Monday's game at Harlington was Jack Munns. Munns has been released by the club and could be offered a deal at Notts County.

Charlton: Phillips; Osborne (Barnes 46), Thomas, Lennon, Edwards; Muldoon, Monlouis, Gerard (Charles-Cook 65), Hippolyte-Patrick (Umerah 75); Kennedy, Ahearne-Grant.
    Subs: Mitov, Ansah.

He failed to grow the required additional six inches. Wish him luck, though he was not "one of ours".

I see Monlouis is still with us. There is a Hippolyte-Patrick at Sutton Utd. I see Osborne is still around. Names missing from that team are Browne, Cumberbatch, and Daniell who did not play last Thrursday either. They all joined around the same time as Munns. On their way too?

Yes yes I think Browne, Cumberbatch and Daniel will be released. I don't know when all this is going to be announced.

I am pleasantly surprised that Ollie Muldoon has been given a new two years (plus) contract. He is already 20 and has been nowhere near the first team. I think he sat on the bench once when we were really short of fit players. Someone must think he is capable of a lot more.

He has gone to Gillingham for the rest of the season to replace Linganzi, who has left them.

Yes I'm surprised by that too. When I last saw him I thought he was trying incredibly hard to impress, maybe he can relax a bit now.

We beat Ramsgate 5-0 n the Kent Senior Cup (hat-trick for Ansah). Cumberbatch played the whole game and Browne was a late sub.

The only time I have watched an entire u-21 game this season, Daniell was being tried at CF. It was when we were very short of strikers and Ahearne-Grant was needed for the first team. I thought Daniell did very well, and we had stumbled onto something, but as far as I know that experiment was not continued.

It is just what I have heard from someone. It is not unusual for players who are being released to carry on playing. Munns is apparently trialling with Notts County.

It finished Charlton 5, yes you heard that right, Crewe Alexandra 1 at a cold Sparrows Lane. Crewe started the brightest with some good possession and passing, but Charlton took the lead through Zak Ansah, who slotted the ball home after Mikhael Kennedy played him in.

Shortly afterwards a deflected shot from Kennedy hit the bar and rebounded straight into the path of Ahearne- Grant who managed to hit the ball into the ground and over the bar. It stayed 1-0 to Charlton when the referee blew the half time whistle. Who was to know what excitement would occur in the second half. Almost from the off Charlton doubled their lead when Ahearne- Grant took a long punt from Phillips and finished well.

Shortly afterwards Crewe pulled a goal back with Callum Saunders finishing. Dillon
Phillips then made a couple of good stops to keep us in the game. Regan Charles Cook then put the game out of reach capping a fine display with a good finish.

After that it was the Zak Ansah show with two goals, the fifth really bizarre. Crewe were trying to take a free kick in their area, a Charlton player blocked it, even though he was only a couple of yards from the kick, and Ansah tapped home. I was surprised the Referee allowed it.

    Charlton team

    Phillips
    Osborne, Thomas, Lennon, Edwards
    Cumberbatch, Monlouis, Charles-Cook,
    Kennedy, Ahearne-Grant, Ansah

Subs Pyke for Lennon, Browne for Kennedy, Umerah for Ahearne- Grant.

Thanks, Dick. You seem a lot more interested in our u21s than the OS.

Tell us more about Charles-Cook (age, physique, position, etc). He seems to have pushed his way out of the u18s into the u21s lately.

Indeed. I was not for one minute disputing your suggestion. I am only too grateful for your news, or even gossip, about the youngsters because we get little from the OS. Good for them to continue playing so interested clubs can have a look. Plus we wouldn't have too many other options in midfield if that four were all omitted. That is why I am wondering if Charles-Cook can step up like Ahearne-Grant, Edwards and Kennedy have done and play with and against players who might be two or three years older.

Regan Charles- Cook is a second year scholar. I would guess he is 17. He is stocky, but not that tall. He runs well with the ball and can beat a player. He is best in central midfield where he can break forward and create a chance or score himself. He can also play in a wide position.

What has happened to Holmes-Dennis? Not even on Portsmouth's bench for the last 2 games.

In answer to your question, yes, he does and regularly. They lost tonight to Obileye's mob, though..

Zak Ansah has joined Plymouth on loan and Kadell Daniel to Torquay.

We have signed Monlouis until the end of the season.

Kelly Youga has joined Crawley. I didn't realise he was still playing. Good luck to him.
