Yes they could make the recruiter the person already with the most suspicion

Another benefit of it being money based not role based
 
Random idea: the cost of having the don killed could be no mafia action for one turn while they decide the new don

The Mafia member would need to be a active and 'good player' since they would need to establish whether the recruited innocent party was a cop or not.

Also, if that nominated Mafia recruiter were to die, the Mafia could spend a small nomination on appointing another member the recruiter.

No interest on current finds either?

Would interest only happen whilst the Mafia had a accountant? If so, maybe they could spend too appoint a new accountant too?

What if the handler dies, and the mafia don't make a new connction because they are suspicious of the new member.

Don't know about balancing the money because MITO will have extra rules but I guess an accountant would do their job anyway if no don, not like decisions to recruit or kill which need a leader.

Handler? Do you mean money handler? I wouldn't have one. The Mafia have money and that's that.
 
Not sure how easy it would be to allow everyone to have some kind of role and ability (even if a majority of them are small). Having been mafia or had a role in the last couple, it's definitely more enjoyable and you take a lot more interest in it than if you're just a regular towny and have no influence over anything.

Some small random ones could be like a poker player who is able to earn more money for the town by playing a game of roulette each night and going black or red with some of the towns money etc..

Or another could be a neighbour hood watch member who is told about 1 person sneaking around each night but is only told who and not what they were doing so wouldn't know if mafia or town but could try n work out given what activities took place that night as well ...


Just trying to think of some small roles people could have to make them have a bit more interest <ok>

No the mafia recruiter. If he gets knocked off the new mafia member doesn't know who else is mafia and is on their own in limbo and doesn't have a clue what to do <laugh>

That's why I said the Mafia could pay a small donation to appoint a new recruiter.

Is entirely up to the Mafia what they tell the recruited member. If they felt it wasn't the cop then they could all talk to him, risky though. No reason another member couldn't just approach them. Remember that this can't be a lot since we're not allowed to talk privately unless granted permission.
 
If doing the money route...

If a mafia member is killed his % of the money is lost.

So if the Mafia have 100 lira and there are 4 of them (each carrying 25 lira) then if Gerrez got lynched they'd be down to 75.

Lots not be unrealistic here; I don't get lynched, even when I vote for myself!

Or they appoint an accountant to hold their money
 
Everyone agree we just lynch Gerrez night one just to shut him up about the fact no one lynches him ever <whistle>
