7 players sofar... no pressure on anyone. I've not sent any pms for others yet. no pressure on anyone to play or not play of course. 7 is half way there bascially.

I'm off that week so won't be on as much just like this week. But count me in all the same.

2. I was never tempted! Don't need another site though. The conversations on here allow for multi use.

3. Don't need to clear inboxes, there is no longer a limit.

7. You considered the previously discussed football theme?

8. This number is missing :bandit: (8))

Must have retired it for gerrard

I have not ruled anything out right now for themes

The utd game right before had me thinking if like to think about it or not

I'm probably in. Will have to check what the workload is looking like for that week. Will confirm or deny nearer the time. But deffo interested.

we are up to 11 players more or less.... we have some others who are from other pages who played before so I think we will get 14/15 people i would say

I've got some ideas for roles and rules that were floated after the last game... Will put them down tonight when on pc when it's easier to type.

Its Around having cash and being able to buy a n action (kill/convert) etc.

Where's this economy-based ruleset you teased us with?

Well, just an idea that the good guys and bad guys each get a pot of cash at the start of the game.

Say for example, Mafia get £10k to start with and they can pay £5k to kill someone, or can pay £k to investigate etc. Or they can do nothing and earn an extra £2k in interest each night for example (or through dodgy mafia deals if want to keep on theme).

The good guys can also be in a similar situation where the local millionaire is determined to get rid of the mafia and happy to bankroll some investigations so has a similar pot of gold and can pay money for investigations into people by a private spy etc...

However, if one or the other takes out the mafia money man or the local millionaire that teams lose say half the money they currently have.

Obviously, mafia can't pay for a hit of their hitman is dead or in jail as well etc...

Thinking a bit more about your idea and how it might be balanced:

Start £10k
Convert (bribe) costs £7k
Kill (assassin) costs £5k
Do nothing for a turn (invest) earns 20% interest on balance

Examples:

If Mafia do nothing for 3 turns and hope to not be discovered, they get to £17k with compound interest and can then afford to convert, kill, and kill the next 3 nights (or convert, convert, invest, invest, kill)

If Mafia convert night 1 they then have to wait 3 nights before they can afford to kill (£3k left takes 3 nights to become £5.1k)

If Mafia kill nights 1 and 2 they have no money left

If Mafia kill night 1 they can then do nothing for 2 nights and then afford a convert

Another option is invest, convert, kill to end with no money

I wouldn't assign a dedicated assassin with the money approach. The pot of cash dictates what they can and can't do anyway and usually most Mafia members would be willing to kill, not just one.

I agree, the kill/convert powers should not be tied to a person in the economy scenario

But maybe the mafia might need to have an accountant alive (or not in jail) to get their 20% interest?

The whole point of the cash approach was to allow a Mafia team freedom without fear of losing a particular power should one team member be killed. I wouldn't assign a Sassoon or recruiter, just need a Don and maybe the accountant you suggested, other possible roles would be a heavy and investigator but they could both be included in the cash idea. Limits would have to be reasonable though, they shouldn't be expected to only lean or investigate for example but they shouldn't be able to do more than one kill or recruit peer night either.

Maybe they should start as a four without an accountant and aren't allowed to kill or recruit on the first night, they have select a innocent as their accountant on the first night to access their pot of money.
