Ok guys I will take this on board

I have a couple of thoughts here.

    1. I agree it would not then require specific Mafia roles par de. Just agreement on what's been done

    2. I still would like a don or godfather so killing him means some penalty to Mafia and they have to recover

    3. I am thinking of some means to earn money would be a good idea. I might set specific tasks of some sort so that money is earned but perhaps with some element of risk... Any ideas here would be appreciated... Interest alone should not allow Mafia to sit back and do nothing then go nuts

    4. Astro is right that nobody should have enough money to do everything in one night at start

Set tasks could be like getting 1 of the townies to vote for a specific person... would mean you have to try influence them without being obvious.

Or, if you're mafia, getting someone to vote for you etc...

  9. 2. Definitely need a Don role but I don't think it should die with the person. If a Don died for real someone else would just take over. They'd have no powers anyway, just the final say on any actions taken.

I agree I've an idea for that based on this stuff

One thing I will say. It is not on for everyone to know anything bad starting monies and some General rules. If everyone knew how much Mafia had that would be boring no?

As long as I get to see brb melting down again like last time, the Mafia can have an unlimited pot of gold <laugh>

  12. I reckon it should be announced at the start but the opposition don't know how much is gained through tasks

Yeah I gave examples above about what I thought would be a nice balance for the money but only taking into account the risk/reward of the mafia acting or not acting; acting straight away gives a quick bonus but being more patient makes them more powerful.

But once you bring in your ideas about extra revenue streams and other rules you need to rebalance everything yourself and then we don't know the details <ok>

I am now planning a game using the money.

my fear is getting ti unbalanced. there are secrets, different roles and such.

I am trying to get risk and reward for peoepl who go gung ho and people who are very cautious.

If anyone coudl think about it and give me an idea or two of what they would consider good risks or bad risks that would be great.

Or indeed... if one team could go too much too soon how would people see it go

If you convert someone with a bribe that has the massive boost of a 2 player swing to the mafia. A bad thing could be some kind of incorruptable innocents who would just take the money and give it to the townspeople.

Will townspeople use money too? In any case it could be a huge waste of money to convert someone without being careful about it and get it wrong.

  17. If the Mafia convert a cop, the cop shouldn't become Mafia. Instead they are undercover. The Mafia would have to be very cautious with what they discuss, maybe allocating one Mafia member to talk to the "converted" cop (example)

Edit: or the cop gets to chose which side he wants to be (declaring it to MITO as game host)

Great idea to introduce a bit of paranoia to the mafia who usually have the benefit of information <ok>

For balance you need the cop only learns the identity of the guy who recruited him who is then his handler, but he can then look for links.

  19. But since the money scenario wouldn't see a dedicated named recruiter, the Mafia would have to select who is going to fulfill that role.

  20. Definitely have to be just one Mafia member though, if the cop is immediately told who all of them are it's instantly game over.

The Mafia would need to be sensible, particularly the named recruiter.
