HULL
Not playing regularly for Southampton. If come the Summer and assuming he was available at a price acceptable to Brucey, and he wanted to return, would you have him back?

Long is definitely one of them who has become better in people's memories since he left. It's how often it turns out the player we are really missing is the injured one.

Long was ok for us, his energy was brilliant, he gave us the pace we lacked - and still do - and his hassling opened a lot of doors but his quality was often poor. I distinctly remember a game where I turned to the person next to me and said "he's just not very good is he?" His wages are also too high.

So unless he was something stupid like £5m then it's a no for me.

If they want rid, I'd expect them to be looking for £7-8m, they haven't a prayer of getting their money back.

He was miles better for us than he gets credit for.

Hernandez still shows no signs of coming good, and we look **** the second Jelavic goes off. N'Doye was a great signing, but going forward we need another striker if we stay up.

Hernandez did well at first, and looked a right nuisance against Everton at New Year. But yes he's been really inconsistent, which doesn't surprise me. I think you'll see the best of him from next season. We just need to stay up in the meantime...

I'd have him back for the right money, i thought his work off the ball was very good, and his pace for the ball over the top caused problems too, he's not good enough to be playing for a team challenging for the top 6/7 places, but for a team like ours, looking to consolidate as a solid mid table side he's a more than decent larker. Another way to ask the question would be, if you could go back in time, would you rather have Shane Long stay or Abel Hernandez and the 2m extra to spend??

Inconsistent in the 10-20 minute run outs he's had?
