His first was a free kick that was extremely well placed, something our free kick takers have not been able to do all season. The goal and distances are the same in the PL as they are in the Championship, therefore there's more than a good possibility he could have recreated this in the PL. Players like Ings, Austin etc who were also doubted have been able to make the step up playing in their "correct" positions, so there's no reason Ince can't. McClaren appears to have managed him well in a short space of time and got the best out of him, something Bruce failed to do, imo
It seems ridiculous that some ****wits can't see that for us, needs must, injuries have forced a radical and sometimes crazy looking rethink in which players play where. Credit to them too, some have tried really hard and pulled it off, others, not so much. It seems further crazy that loaning someone out to a team where they don't have the problems we're having, and where he can play in his natural position, and build some quality playing time up, as well as improving at a lower level so he can come back to us much more refined and useful is questioned by what are clearly FIFA gamers who think they know more about managing players and a team than someone who's actually doing it and is pretty good at it. If the end result of his loan is that he's worth twice as much money and we sell him on, that is also a result, although I suspect our resident FIFA ****wits won't understand that either.
I think I've said before, that I think Bruce has done a **** job of this season in isolation, but I wouldn't want him sacked for a second. I just think he deserves the chance to see it out and a bit of loyalty for the good he's done. Worst case scenario is we end up where we were when he took over. I can live with that. I still like him, even though I think he's made a dogs dinner of this season.
Found his level, however if he carries on this form we are definitely going to make a profit on him. A young, creative, lethal winger is worth millions. If he scores 7/8 goals between now and the end of the season then he probably should be valued the same as he was at Blackpool, which was around £8m-£10m wasn't it? They were the figures being thrown around when Cardiff were bidding for him, so we'd be laughing all the way to the bank.
It's alright saying that Ince has found his level but chances are Derby will be back in the PL next season and they'll want to sign Ince..
The issue is, if he does increase his value, he only has 12 months left on his contract which will hugely decrease his value as he could see his contract out and leave for nothing. Therefore in the summer if we did sell him on i doubt we would get much for him with him having 12 months left only. We would also get no compensation if he left us next summer so i doubt how he is going to drastically increase his value. I don't disagree with loaning him out, i just wish he had a chance to play for us in his natural position. If we are not going to play with wingers it seems a strange signing...
Good, hopefully he bags a few more goals and we make a bit of money off him. We paid 2.5 mill in the end I think, wouldnt take to many more goals to get that back.
We paid £1.6m for him, there potentially another £700k in add-on's but if he doesn't play for us, we're unlikely to pay many of them.
He's not good enough. Simple really. Lightweight, lacks desire, afraid to get stuck in. Poor vision and awareness. We. Were. Sold. A Pup.
If Bruce had of played him in his actual position maybe we would of seen the Tom Ince Derby saw yesterday, he hasn't had a fair chance for us and anyone who says he has is talking bollocks.
"If Bruce had of played him in his actual position maybe we would of seen the Tom Ince Derby saw yesterday, he hasn't had a fair chance for us and anyone who says he has is talking bollocks." How do you know he hasn't had a fair chance? Base your answer on the same criteria as I do, namely:- a) His attitude towards his team mates b) His application on the training field. c) His performance & ability when he has played. d) His attitude when not being picked. e) His ability to shine against a lower Championship teams against his inability to shine against lower level Premier League teams. f) His reaction on the training field after not not being selected. g) His willingness to play anywhere for the cause h) His overall commitment to the club.
