I'm amazed at the number of people who want to start N'Doye but still play Hernandez. As if Abel is that brilliant he's worth changing to a front 3 for. This quote in particular is strange: Why would we bring in a striker to rotate at this point? We brought him in cos Hernandez has been ****e and Jelavic hasn't been properly fit for about 3 months. He might be similar to Jelavic in style, but unless N'Doye turns out to be really ****, you'd expect them two to play together because they're our best two strikers.
We need fight in the middle. Ramirez isn't the answer, I don't know why everyone rates him so highly, he's a luxury that we can't afford. McG Elmo, Davies, McShane/Bruce, Dawson, Brady Livermore, Quinn Hudds/Meyler Jelavic, Abel H Although I expect no Abel H & just Jelavic on his own up front, with 4 in the middle, the one key if we do play 1 up front, whoever it is, we must get the link player between the defence & that striker, which is what was missing on Saturday.
Hernandez couldn't hold the ball up last week. The guy from Russia who came on here a couple days ago said N'Doye's main strength was in hold up play the ball stuck at his feet. I'd say if he is right that it's clear he is going to partner with Jelly.
Playing a 5-4-1 would be too negative. We can't afford to soak up their pressure for the entire 90 and rely on one striker to be the outlet. We need to break up play in the middle of the park and find our strikers. I think if we put Quinn ahead of Livermore and Meyler (both of whom were s*** last week but its not like we have many options) then his work rate could cause issues. It all boils down to how well we do when we win the ball back. Our passing was atrocious against Newcastle, especially in our own half, as we all saw. A repeat of that type of possession and it'll get ugly.If Jela and N'Doye (hopefully) can actually hold the ball and allow Elmo and Robertson to get up we could cause them some problems. I'm just hoping Mangala starts again
Meyler is going through one of his **** phases again. He seems to be a confidence player that looks good when the whole team are performing but he can't grab a game by the scruff and drag his players up if we aren't. I see all these people clamouring for the players who helped get us promoted, but they just don't have any PL quality and with all the best will in the world, you aren't a PL quality player unless you have the ability to match it. He was appaling on Saturday and not much better against West Ham, I'd stick Quinn in that third midfield space until Diame gets back fit.
Jelavic is a doubt for tomorrow with a knee injury, FFS just what we deserve after rushing him back too soon.
If Jelly isn't 100% fit and ready, he should **** on the bench. Harper Elmo Maguire Dawson Robertson Livermore Quinn Aluko Ramirez Brady Hernandez
Take Ramirez out and put Davies in, McGregor in for Harper, Maguire out and put Bruce in and you have the team for tomorrow... We'll go to a 3-6-1 formation, or a 5-4-1 formation depending on how you look at it. McGregor Elmo Dawson Bruce Davies Robertson Livermore Quinn Brady Aluko Hernandez
Be careful mate, there are people on here who think our 'forwards' are strikers! Don't say any of them are "****e" just say they are a bit 'Diarrhea-ish"! signed . . . . a friend.
You can't blame McGregor for the goals scored when the 10 in front of him are basically "parting the waters" for the opposition to have a decent crack at the goals.
Is it okay to blame him for the ones where he could have easily saved them if he hadn't completely ****ed up? #rhetoricalquestion
I knew you would see the light eventually! McGregor isn't good enough for the premier league and I would like to see Harper in net It doesn't matter who we play, if man city have a decent shot at goal, it will go in.
I'd go so far as to say replacing McGregor with Harper might just keep us in the premier league. Our No1 is a ****ing liability. The only bad word i can remember on here or anywhere against Harper,is he's too old.Which is ****ing ridiculous, he's 40? 41? Who ****ing cares about his age ? He's a vastly better keeper than McGregor, and certainly won't have a panic attack, every time a defender feels the need to pass back.
Christ McGregor isn't that bad. If Harper was a vastly better 'keeper he'd be playing. McG seems to be someone whose every mistake is scrutinised, while other players can be **** for weeks in a row and no one notices.
That's the nature of being a keeper. Your every mistake scrutinised. Robertson made a equally bad mistake for Newcastle's first, but people aren't going over and over it.
