Without wanting to be too pessimistic, we don't expect to win or even draw. Given the early part of the season coming away with no injuries would be a result. With that in mind, rest Jelavic, Robertson, Ramirez and others for the arguably more important Villa game on Tuesday. Something like:

McGregor
Elmo McShane Dawson Davies Brady
Meyler Livermore Quinn
Aluko Hernandez

Could even give Sagbo a runout instead of Hernandez. Last thing we want is another injury.

The trouble with McGregor is he isn't doing his job, newcastle had roughly 4 shots on target and 3 went in, 3 shots from outside the box, you could argue that the defence didn't close down quick enough, but in football, you expect for there to be shots (obviously) the problem is our GK isn't saving the small amount of shots we our defence let though (which happens in football)

I think Harper seems more professional than McGregor in net

I'd go so far as to say replacing McGregor with Harper might just keep us in the premier league. Our No1 is a ****ing liability. The only bad word i can remember on here or anywhere against Harper,is he's too old.Which is ****ing ridiculous, he's 40? 41? Who ****ing cares about his age ? He's a vastly better keeper than McGregor, and certainly won't have a panic attack, every time a defender feels the need to pass back.

Which is too ****ing often

I reckon it makes no difference. Lack of agility vs lack of positioning ability. For the Ameobi goal, Harper wouldn't have given him the whole goal to shoot at but wouldn't have got down to it (whether being in the middle of the goal would have put off the shot is a different matter).

Harper isn't that unagile, he stops most things within his reach, he just doesn't go flying across goal to stop things into the far corners like a younger more sprightly goalkeeper might.

I also don't think McGregors positional ability is bad enough to draw serious comment. There's been one or two situations granted but I just think he's erratic and undependable in general. He makes gaffs of all kinds and frequently, but he does some really ****ing stupid things like punching enemy strikers in the head or kicking someone. Harper would never let you down in such a manner.

That said and despite putting Harper in my team, I would play McGregor tomorrow simply because we're up against a swuad of players who, for the most part, should and can pick their spot from 20/30 yards with regularity. It may prove too easy for them to put the ball beyond Harpers reach from a distance.

we should play 4 1 4 1
jelavic
brady ramirez livermore elmohamady
meyler
roberston dawson chester rosenior
mcgregor

anyone but Livermore. Bring in one of the kids and blood them. We have nothing to lose and everything to gain

that's precisely we should bring lennon in

lennon is a far superior manager to bruce. ginger **** or not

This the sort of situation where, with everyone suggesting a hammering, our players can step up to the plate and 'rise to the occasion' with a surprise. I cannot see it as N'Doye is unavailable and Jelly looks to have an injury recurrence but Hernandez can surely show some 'gung-ho' application to his game.

the way huddlestone acted as newcastle scored their third goal

is unforgivable.. i hope he never sets foot in the kc again.. it's unforgivable in my eyes.. the overrated ****.. playing for england? hahahah

What the actual f**k are you talking about, McGregor cant save shots from 30/40 yards, 2 examples of that last week! Harper is a better all round keeper and it would fill me with confidence if he was in net!
