We need Quinn back in the team for movement, Livermore hasn't been as bad as Hudds and I think Meyler was hung out to dry in the last game so would probably keep him in too. The defence is a disaster zone for me, we need Bruce to work some defensive magic on the lads in training but I hate to say it but without the calming influence of Chester we are pretty much ****ed. Mcgregor Davies Daws Robertson Aluko Meyler Livermore Quinn Brady Ramirez Jelavic I don't think you can throw Dame into this game but he might be there for QPR
The only person that hung Meyler out to dry was himself because he was ****. Sick of people saying "he adds bite to the midfield" no he doesn't. On the very rare occasion he does win a tackle, he then proceeds to either turn backwards and pass it to Davies or passes it to their team, for the rest of the game he runs around like a headless chicken doing absolutely **** all. When he first came in this season (When Diame was first injured I believe) he did well and deserved a place in the team, but recently he has been worse than Huddlestone, and that is saying something.
I would throw Dame in if available, what have we got to lose, he must be reasonably match fit if he has been playing in the African cup, give him an hour and see how he goes.
You're entitled to your opinion, but come on, I'd love to know exactly what you think Meyler brings to the team? Apart from adding an extra headless chicken into the midfield. At least Livermore tries to link with the strikers and pass the ball forward to them and burst into the space between the midfield and strikers, Meyler drifts out wide and does nothing.
He was supposed to be out wide. Did you see the Everton game when him and Jake chased everything down., broke play up and gave it easy. Thats their job. As soon as Hudd plays Jake drops back to cover him. Play Meyler in the middle with Jake and we'll have two working together to break play up and give and get forward.
I'm expecting something like... ---------------McGregor ------Dawson Bruce Davies Elmo---------------------------Brady -----Meyler--Livermore-Quinn ------------Jelavic N'Doye Hernandez for N'Doye if he doesn't get clearance, or Brucey is too nervous to drop him straight in.
I'm just worried he gets injured, put him in cotton wool til the Villa game. Either brady or Robbo. Even going forward i thought Robbo was poor, once he shot and the other cross he didnt even look up just blasted it. Jelavic was going mental in the middle.
My team we definitely won't see, but I would go for 433 --------McGregor--------- Bruce--Dawson--Davies--Robertson Elmo -- Livermore -- Quinn Hernandez--N'Doye--Jelavic I understand it's Man City, but what have we go to lose??
not really - last season Bruce started 19 games - we won 2 - he didn't start 19 games, we won 8 - says it all really - to be fair the stats show that we've been **** whether he starts or not this season and whilst Junior spends most of his time passing to the opposition, Livermore excelled himself on Saturday and managed to beat Juniors record for giving the ball away needlessly - anyone who would rather have Junior playing instead of Dawson is a ****ing idiot
MacGregor Dawson Bruce. Davies Elmo. Meyler livermore Quin Ramirez Jella. Hernandez Lets hope it doesn't dent the goal differnce too much.
McGregor Bruce Dawson Davies Elmo Livermore Meyler Quinn Robertson Jelavic N'Doye/Hernandez N'Doye if available, Hernandez if not.
We definitely need a change of goalkeeper. McGregor has been poor, Harper is even slower. Why not let Jakupovic have another appearance. He's more agile than both of the above and a good shot stopper. Whoever is in is likely to be VERY busy. Jakupovic Bruce Dawson Davies Elmo Meyler Livermore Quinn/Ramirez Brady Jelavic N'Doye/Hernandez Hernandez in if N'Doye can't play. Toss up between Quinn (work rate) or Ramirez (deadly free kicks). Harper Macca Figueroa Huddlestone Robertson Ramirez Aluko
McGreggor (Had a couple of 'off' games but our best goalkeeper) Bruce - Dawson - Davies (Best back-line we have available) Elmo - Huddlestone - Livermore - Ramirez - Hernandez (Hudd seems to play better against superior opposition and Hernandez I am sure would like a bit of space and hopefully show what he can do as he has been well closed-down up front at this level) Jelavic - N'Doye (This bloke has an awful lot of pressure on him and will be up against some world class defenders in this league - I'm not expecting much from him against this opposition and he will need some time to 'bond' with his fellow team-mates) If N'Doye is unavailable then Aluko will have to go up front. Brady and Robertson on the bench along with Harper, McShane, Quinn or Meyler. Very tough game this and I am not expecting anything out of it.
