Can I put on record that, in my opinion, what you have said throughout this thread is (for me at least) doing exactly the opposite of 'bringing us together'. I'm certainly not happy with what's going on, but I find the personal attacks are unnecessary and deeply unpleasant. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I respect your right to say what you feel and my right to disagree, but I wanted to be clear that I don't believe anyone on here is in any way representative of the 'fan base'.
Well that's your opinion if you don't think that this forum represents in anyway the fan base stay asleep. The introduction of the forum model has meant exactly that a place where fans who make the effort to make their opinions and place them in the public domain FFS our Chairman has built his image around exactly that. I am proud that I have supported and had a glass full approach every since i joined in what just a collection of negative opinions but enough is enough Take stock of the actions that have got us to where we are today its been based on lies in my opinion. I agree about the personal attacks the forum is full of them against players past and present ... I defend them! Because I am now looking at the real reasons I believe our club goes from bad to worst I am told that they are unnecessary and unpleasant.! I don't care if I ruffle feathers and truly believe that the only constant of any club is it's fan base and I truly believe that this forum is a very good if not the best barometer of our fan base. There is without doubt today a much better togetherness on here because the truth can't be denied on where we are The QPR business doesn't look sustainable The football ethos of QPR is not good because our leader has lost his way ... you can't continue to make this many wrong decisions I agree 100% that stability is key but we have a manager who doesn't care enough us the fans. I want him to do his job because he has been getting away with it for too long I have been waiting for us to unite against him and the facts are we are so that is good
Mate, I really do think you are giving all this way too much thought! Way out of proportion to what is fundamentally a game of football!
A barometer is a poor concept - a forum is a disparate group of opinions and perspectives - it doesn't ever lead to a single 'reading, and I find it hard to agree that people are 'united' against TF, in particular or that wishing failure on the team is a broadly held desire. As I said, I respect any individuals opinions, and I welcome constructive discussion and debate, but I'll reiterate that baseless, personal attacks which assume motives and intents which cannot be supported are not fair and yes, unpleasant.
I'm pretty sure that the crowd at LR are still very much behind Tony. I'm not sure how long they will remain loyal to old Dino chops though.
I think, annoying though it is, we fans can be quite fickle - no doubt a few wins would change the mood. It's interesting how after May 24th there was an almost collective amnesia about the preceding season. I do remember reading several threads (on here and elsewhere) where criticism of the season was not welcomed. I think part of the problem, for me at least, is that reconciling how football has changed over the past few years with how I feel about my club. It has been said many times about how our club has always been like a family, deeply embedded into the community - I do think the step change around ownership, money, reward and the risks of failure has just fundamentally changed things. We, the fans, are the same - they, the clubs, have changed - but given that, can we reasonably expect our relationship with them to remain constant? You hear the phrase (and I'm not talking solely about us) 'we want our club back' - I think the reality of that is that this model probably only works much further down the leagues. It's a sad irony that at a time when we are more able to communicate with our clubs than at any time before, we (the fans) are now more detached from them.
It is indeed. I remember many on here, no names mentioned, they know who they are, attacking those of us who were critical of the ****e served up last season. I dare say Seagull is quite right in his observation though - a few wins and they will all jump back on board the 'Redknapp is our saviour' bandwagon. Sorry if that is deemed to be provocative but when some good posters are singled out for flak and therefore leave as a result of them expressing views which many of us sympathised with, it's fair comment to make the point.
The posters who didn't take to Redknapp from the off are the ones I respect the most ... as for fickle well I am not ashamed to have put that out there 2 years ago ... As I did the atmosphere at LR at times Either way I predict again that the fans will align United again it's a cycle shame the journey has had to happen that way. We aren't by any way doomed in this league it's all to play for and very exciting but the people in charge have to do better
Absolutely. If we pull off at least one if not a couple away wins, beat some of the bigger clubs at home, there will be a lot of "see, I knew we'd come around". My sense is that we have an club that is far better than some of the others and deserving of staying up, but not performing well. We have a manager, who has made a series of poor personnel choices at high cost and painted us into a corner with the wrong players for the wrong style. Now we're stuck. No amount of winning the rest of the season will change the fact that there are some fundamentals about the way the club has been run and managed that are broken. We need a new, long-term and sustainable vision and I think that Tony Fernandes and Les Ferdinand have started putting this together. But it's at the start and I think we need to acknowledge that and support the moves that support the vision -- including whomever we select/release in the transfer window.
Me ousting Flyer obviously. Look Yorkie, if someone posts incessant opinions almost to the point of a serious consideration that the person is suffering from some sort of psychosis, then its natural they're going to get flak. Many others including myself have gotten flak for one thing or another but we didn't cry off, we took it on the chest. This Board is not a place for children and if you can't hack it then its not for you. Even Oddball who is a big admirer of Flyer's would agree with me on this point.
You're a deluded Count - "Me ousting Flyer"? - Seriously, you could actually do banter...... once upon a time. You think it natural to provide someone you may think suffers from psychosis, some flak? Now get back in your cab, there's an old tranny that needs to go shopping wait and return and she's requested you.
On here? Yes, 100%. His Nurses should keep a closer eye on him. He's not my problem. Do I look like the NHS?
Mate, the site is running like horse poo this evening. It must be due to lots of members being logged on due to deadline day. It's a tad slow and I keep getting server time out notifications in red boxes. Hang in there mate!
