Christian Eriksen's won the Danish Player of the Year award for the second time running. Not a massive surprise, but well done to him anyway.
Keith Hackett picked out five refs in his recent criticism of standards, claiming that they should be dropped from the Premier League. Taylor was one, as was Foy. Are we just going through the list?
No, but he was incredibly inconsistent in the Sunderland v Liverpool game on Saturday. Booked Coutinho for blocking a quick free-kick, then bottled it when he did it again, for a start. I've just re-read the list and Taylor actually wasn't one of the five! His decision on the Routledge red card, which was rescinded, was singled out and he was called a "so-called top referee". The full list was Andre Marriner, Mike Jones, Lee Mason, Chris Foy and Lee Probert. He also said that Mike Riley should quit and had over the reins to Howard Webb. Frying pan - Fire.
She married a british actor who was #1 at the British boxoffice at the time, namely Anthony Steel. He went straight down the drain......very BIG girl though!
To be fair,it must be murder being a ref today. So much reporting and desecting of games on todays tv and newspapers I swear wasn't happening 10/20/30 years ago. Not to say there was much difference then than now..... Of course since we've developed the modern computer.....
Yaya Toure won African Player of the Year for the fourth year running - which begs the question how long it will take before Bob Geldof arranges another round of Do They Know It's Christmas...
Failing that, take it onto a Ched Evans thread. Issue seems to have gone away for now anyway, quite clear no one will touch him with a barge-pole. He should see out the rest of his sentence, then piss off to Russia, the Middle East, or A.N.Other morally backward region.
I disagree with your views, and you're a little late with them. If football were a morality contest, very few participants would qualify!
Gareth Southgate has had his contract extended by the FA until the summer of 2017. He's done a very good job so far as the U21s coach, so I'm happy to see his hard work rewarded. A successful summer tournament might see him getting a bit of attention from clubs, though.
