Credit to him for holding his hands up and admitting he cannot do the job - enter Mike Phelan

The statement on the official NCFC site states Neil will be taking a break from the game and returning to the club in some capacity in July. Phelan to take charge while a successor is found.

So if Europe doesn't produce again, MP will get the job I guess.

Can't think of any managers in the UK that would be a reasonable fit for us now

    Yes agree.
I guessed something was up a hour ago as Adams odds to be sacked went from 16/1 to 6/4 within an hour or so.
Will Phelan step up to the plate? will he be given the caretakers role?

    hmm......

I would not be dead set against it but I suspect it has the potential to be another crowd splitting appointment

MP will be given the job as caretaker no question and depending upon the next few results will get the gig full time <ok>

Who, to be fair, didn't exactly shake things up by the scruff of the neck when they were a double act.
What a baptism for him, away on Saturday at free-scoring leaders Bournemouth <yikes>

Thanks for your efforts NA, big respect for that, as the board have been to gutless to do it sooner we've now missed out on the likes of Pulis, who was IMO the man for the job. Lets see what they have planned other then MP...

Wouldn't have wanted Pulis or Lennon. Can't help feeling that this is the wrong time. Will players want to leave now? That may be the indicator of Phelan's chances as Caretaker and after.

But is Phelan going to be the answer? What management experience has he got? Coaching yes not management!!
Really hoped Adams would have kept going.
Needs to be a completely new man in charge now imo.

You lucky lucky bastards........still time to turn your season around, Adams never seemed cut out for management imo but he has to be applauded for falling on his sword whilst still time for a new man to make changes..

    As a town fan I'm gutted...:emoticon-0175-drunk
