Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesss
We do seem to have a pretty decent record in terms of poaching managers from rival east Anglian clubs......
I'd meant to post yesterday on the "how long do we give him" thread that I expected a long drawn out departure, with threats from the board followed by a slight upturn in results, etc. Thank you Neil for avoiding all of that. Big respect for the way he's handled things, and really pleased he'll stay with us. Phelan will undoubtedly get the gig short term, whilst we look for a longer term replacement. At least during the interim period I'm not worrying that we'll be in less capable hands. If Phelan doesn't end up getting the job beyond February, then the board need to make sure they do a damn good job with the next appointment. They've lost a lot of credibility in the last 12-18 months, so they really need to take actions which back up some of the waffle that has come from them of late. As to who next, I've really no idea! I just hope they have a CV with at least a couple of clubs on it.
Yes, well done NA - you saved us from the gutless board. Agree RER - Wouldn't have wanted Pulis or Lennon. Interesting times ahead for whoever the board recruits!!
Yes - top fella - how many managers resign these days? he's not immune to what is said around social media/ all media and fair play to him for not dragging his heels for a payout (like some managers in the past). Can't see beyond Phelan for the rest of the season TBH
Nope. I am sure DM would have given him a lot lore time to try and shake it up. I would say this is pretty typical of NA - honest and wears his heart on his sleeve
bearing in mind he isnt leaving the club and will continue in some form from July, i would think they have had a big 'talk' off the records, who instigated it though is the question NA or the board?
Hopefully this will prompt the players to put in a cracking performance this Saturday. Respect to Neil for resigning at this time when the season can still be turned round. Personally, I think a Tim Sherwood & MP blend has a good ring to it.
A possibility for sure -if indeed NA did not request the assistance of him in the first place. Not sure who instigated that appointment
