I don't know how anyone can complain about irony, you talk about only looking at this years results and that results from 13/14 season shouldn't count so why do you consider Bruce's promotion as a reason to keep him? You can't have it both ways. I am a huge fan of Bruce and he shouldn't be sacked but you guys jump on anyone who is slightly negative, whats wrong with not agreeing with everything everyone says. This forum is for debating and a lot has gone wrong this season. On the subject of Hernandez i think he was excellent today, he made some great runs and finally used his pace to scare defenders.
Positives: Looked much stronger today. Put himself about and won the ball. Worked very hard. Ran himself into the ground. Got into some great positions and created chances for himself. Some great vision and played some clever passes. Created good opportunities for others. Negatives: Missed some good chances. Some poor decision making, at times, when on the ball. Only lasted 80 minutes. Running on empty for the last 15.
Remember listening to Tim Vickery Talksports South American Football Pundit giving his opinion on Hernández before we signed him. He seemed impressed and was sure he would trouble defences with his pace and ability and noted he was in the Uruguay squad behind only Suarez and Forlan. Always believed he should be judged playing to his strengths and not as an isolated forward . I think today we saw a glimpse of what Abel will do given a decent run in the team
Guardian "(Hernanddez) was simply irresistible". Strange use of the word but effusive praise from them fpr Hernandez
He put in a shift but (sadly for us) there is no end product. George Boyd has scored more (in open play) for a Club lower than us and he's a winger! irresistible adjective 1. overwhelming, compelling, overpowering, urgent, potent, imperative, compulsive, uncontrollable, overmastering It proved an irresistible temptation to go back. 2. seductive, inviting, tempting, enticing, provocative, fascinating, enchanting, captivating, beguiling, alluring, bewitching, ravishing The music is irresistible. 3. inescapable, inevitable, unavoidable, sure, certain, fated, destined, inexorable, ineluctable They feel the case for change is irresistible. I do hope that this enables him to put the ball in the back of the net next game because 2 from 12 appearances in open play is far from "overwhelming" "overpowering' "potent" (don't make me laugh) "overmastering" "captivating" or "ineluctable" (that which cannot be escaped from)?
You've been banging your head against a brick wall. Many of us understand that there was only a few calling for Bruce's head, but many were disappointed with his decisions. As for their lack of allowing a look- back at a calendar year it simply shows they don't understand the manager has been here for 2.5yrs building a team that played for the whole of 2014 at the same level in the PL, of course he can be judged, it's his own PL performance, using his team selections.
I was really pleased with Hernandez. For the first time he and Jelavic seemed like a partnership, and his work rate was suddenly immense. No wonder he got cramp at the end, he won't have had to run that far before playing in Italy.
Really impressed with him, pulled Jagielka all over the place, (How he is an England centre back God only knows). Should have started against Lesta, when he came on in the second half started to create chances, and was unlucky not to be on the score sheet both against Lesta and Yesterday.
well pleased with Hernandez , his head was up all game , full of confidence , its always hard to judge a character when the goings got tough and you are a star man missing from key games - that he is a threat helps us even when we dont have the ball , As for Bruces form and performances - IMO the last 3 games have been the best overall team performances all season .
His upturn in form seems to have coincided with the sudden emergence of a massive ponytail on his head. Where has that come from? He was completely bald when we played Swansea on the 20th, but had flowing shoulder-length locks by the day of the Leicester game 8 days later. Has he gone and bought a fancy dress wig or something? I know he used to have hair like that when he was in Italy. Maybe he's superstitious and thinks shaving his head led to him struggling for form.
This could be a hair piece made from the hair Huddlestone cut off, that is why Huddlestone form as not been as good since he cut it off, and Hernandez putting on his head his form has improved.
