I agree with it and also disagree with it.

You can't expect a team to win things with just youngsters, even the 'You'll never win anything with kids' Man U team had players like Schmeichel, Irwin, Cantona etc all experienced pros some of whom were worldclass.
You do need older players and players in their prime. At the moment all our older players are either old/past their prime or just ****. We had Suarez last year but this year we're missing that middle link between the Gerrard's and the Sterling's.

I agree that buying youngsters is a great way forward, in theory they are cheaper and settled at the club when they do fulfil their potential, there is also the resale thought. But you do need the balance and so far the older players we've bought to find that balance are flops and need replacing.

Yeah I mentioned that, frankly Hansen was massively way off mark mainly due to the fact that Man U weren't a team made solely of kids. In fact they had a good balance between young talent and seasoned pros.

Shaqiri will be available in January apparently. Would take him all day despite not being a problem position.

Seems like this Perin guy is the target. Who knows though. Half expecting Rodgers to be standing outside Melwood on Jan 31 calling Jonathan Walters a 'technician'.

For me the plan should be yes buy players who are 20 fine but I would be looking for players who are 23/24 and ready to explode

I would have one rule, will I be able to at least make my money back if it goes tits up

This means lovern, lallana and balotelli would never happen

If I've 25 mil sorry even if fees are inflating rapidly there is no fn way I'd spunk it on a risky 20 year old nor a lallana... Sorry but no

Players like mata, and the like who sat in Valencia waiting to be bought are out there still our scouts and managers are mostly pants and rely on a computer analysis of stats rather than their own eyes

  6. If we implemented we'd never sign anyone as any player that goes tits up stands to be a loss unless it's a free!

I understand the point though <ok>

    Example:

    Aguero 35 mil

    Andy Carroll 35mil

That's all I'm saying. There's one example of a high degree of belief in a guy who will be world class and another who is a newkie brown ale guzzling wide boy with a ponytail

    Now

    http://m.bbc.com/sport/football/30533608

You tell me if reus is all that attractive if you look at what he is up to. Is he really worth the risk?

For me I think he might be a bit of a clown but chances are he'll fetch 30 mil if sold on handy so... Do you byy him for 25 now? (This is like the Suarez question, you might foresee some trouble by buying a biter but never his racist ban so you have to think 20 is robbing Ajax and so it proved)

Now look at balotelli... After issues at ac the thing is there are IMO no more takers so 16mil as a risk? Bad call all day and he should have been bought instead of lambert as the other option and a real forward bought too

Imagine lfc bought oh I dunno lavezzi and markovic not lallana and markovic and balotelli only came in as b option would we be in this mess?

No lambert at all... Ok sturridge gets injured so balotelli and lavezzi play up top...

Liverpool are prepared to make a £50m bid for Real Madrid's French forward Karim Benzema, 26, in the January transfer window. (Daily Express)

Why would he move is the big question. Other rumours are Delph and Martinez both can stay put imo.

Heard that we're interested in Shaqiri on loan. Not exactly what we need but I wouldn't say no to a quality player.

Not seen Perin before but apparently he's the heir to Buffon's throne.

And no thanks to Delph - we already have enough average, limited midfielders as it is.

It's a good wum then, as it would be exactly in character of us to go and buy a player like Delph. Just to add to the heap of the others like Downing, Carroll and Adam etc

all good wums take a good chunk of truth and mix it into a big lie. I agree LFc wuold prob be more likley to buy delph than offer anything for benzema... the benzema stuff is a rehash of old rumours from past 2 years.... he is the new arda turan.

Delph though.... ideal for lfc <laugh>

Good player Delph. Don't get the Gerrard comparisons, but he's a cracking all round midfielder, and is capable of better than Villa and he knows it, I'd take him in a heartbeat at Goodison.

If LFC have aspirations of top 4 and beyond, then we should be targeting better.

He is an average player, suited to mid table.

He's better than average and you're just applying the Carlos Kickaball snobbery mentality there imo.

    p.s. You are midtable.........

Not really - I just don't rate average players as highly as you do.

Same reason why I don't rate Rickie Lambert or Jon Flanagan.
