1760 yards = 1 mile. Evening anti. Pleased your pal had a good time. Another fine day weatherwise - how long can it last, I wonder. I expect you can't wait for the Spurs v Saints match. Should be a cracker ! Have a good weekend.
The 2015 US Womens Open Lancaster Country club. The 1761 Club gets its name from George Hambright's purchase of the 140+ acres of land upon which the farmhouse sits from the London Company in 1761. George Hambright’s grandfather, father and uncles emigrated from Germany to Pennsylvania in 1738. George Hambright continued to own and improve the property, until his sale to Michael Brubaker in 1825, who later willed it to his son Michael. Hey Woopert - fine but very windy morning - many toupee wearers nervously walking the streets today hoping everything stays put - see those nutters beheaded that English taxi driver what a mess this world seems to be in - I take it York is a county too far and White Hart Lane is 12000 miles away for me so settle back in the recliner and hope - cheers ATB
The Treaty of Paris of 1763 ended the French and Indian War/Seven Years' War between Great Britain and France, as well as their respective allies. In the terms of the treaty, France gave up all its territories in mainland North America, effectively ending any foreign military threat to the British colonies there. G'day anti. Blimey, heavy rain all morning, and sun in the afternoon ! We had a bore draw at York - we need to get our strikers firing on all cylinders soonest. Rumblings about why we do not recall David Connolly to the first team, as he is still on the payroll until the season end, and we do need some goals PDQ. Who am I to query that situation ? Enjoy the remainder of the weekend.
The USS Defiant (NCC-1764) was a Federation Constitution-class heavy cruiser in service to Starfleet in the 23rd century. She was the last of the original 13 Constitution-class starships to be commissioned. Hey Woopert - fine sunny day - is it a case of people being bloody minded in not selecting DC? all well and good but he could be scoring for you as opposed to just pulling a wage helping promotion I thought would be paramount - hope sunday brings you sunshine and me happiness after the visit to ****e Hart Lane - av a goodun ATB
The Stamp Act was passed by the British Parliament on March 22, 1765. The new tax was imposed on all American colonists and required them to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper they used. Ship's papers, legal documents, licenses, newspapers, other publications, and even playing cards were taxed. The money collected by the Stamp Act was to be used to help pay the costs of defending and protecting the American frontier near the Appalachian Mountains (10,000 troops were to be stationed on the American frontier for this purpose).
THE 1766 RELIGIOUS CENSUS OF IRELAND PART 1. Unfortunately very few census records exist for Ireland prior to 1901 due to the fire at the Four Courts Building in 1921. This fire meant the loss of extremely important genealogical data such as census records, parish registers and some wills. Fragments of the 1766 Religious census, hand written by Tenison Groves many years before this fire survive in fragments and have partially been microfilmed by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Hi anti - Not good news then at S**te Hart Lane against your "bogey team". At least the two managers didn't clash, like Jose and Arsene did !! Nice day today. Sounds like it will be wet and windy here tomorrow. No idea why Awfs won't pick DC for the first team - he doesn't even get to play for the reserves. Very strange ! Have a good day.
Following the repeal of the Stamp Act, Parliament tried to tax the colonies in 1767 by raising import duties, which became known as the Townshend duties, on certain goods. The colonists continued to insist that they could not be taxed by the British Parliament without proper representation, even indirectly by customs duties. Hey Woopert - sunny day with a breeze - not the result I was hoping for and then we missed from 6 yards out - DOH - public holiday here today and I shall retire to a dark corner of the house to recover from yesterdays activities - been voted in as vice president of the club = more meetings ah well keeps me busy - high command going down to her sisters for a week what adventures lie ahead - probably none hope its not too wet and windy ATB
September 1768 - First Birmingham Music Festival held. I believe the tickets sold out after 30 seconds then the website crashed
29 April, 1769 - James Watt patents an improved steam engine. Hence the football chant - "You Watt, You Watt.......You Watt, You Watt, You Watt" Evening anti - Vice President eh ? Congratulations What will it be like being in charge of Vice ? Very wet and windy, as forecast, which was great, as I was on the early morning car ferry to Portsmouth, which was rather rough to put it mildly. Have a nice day.
Discover 1770 – Pristine National Parks The Town Of 1770, birthplace of Queensland, is a picturesque seaside village surrounded on three sides by the Coral Sea and Bustard Bay. Historic as the second landing site of James Cook and the crew of the Endeavour in May 1770, the area is rich in wildlife and natural beauty and offers scenic vistas in every direction.. Greetings Woopert - cloudy morning been to the pool and thrashed the water again to a foam - sounds an interesting ferry ride my worst ferry ride was from Korcula to Dubrovnik on an old ferry - feeling very sea sick and there is nowhere to go as you cant just get off !!! forgotten what vice is like them were the days - going with the high command to get some provisions in prior to her going away why everything has to have "lite" or "skim" in front of it I just don't know there will be a sneaky pizza and maybe fish and chips and no one will know except me hoo bloody rah - ATB
Jan 22nd, 1771 - Spain cedes Falkland Islands to Britain. Hello anti. Talking of worst ferry rides, mine was a few years back travelling from Penzance, in Cornwall, to the Scilly Isles. As soon as we reached Lands End, the sea became extremely rough, and everyone but the Captain was violently sick. The journey back was nice and smooth, but the thought of having to travel back ruined the day on the island ! Funnily enough when I go food shopping with the missus, I choose food items I like the look of, but as soon as my wife sees the item she immediately reads the saturated fat content, and puts it back where it came from ! The Food Police have forbidden me to have fish & chips because of the batter. Mind you, I have taken to sea bass - very nice. Have a nice day
In July 1772 Resolution, commanded by Captain Cook, and Discovery, commanded by Lieutenant Furneaux, set sail from Britain, via Madiera (Jul-Aug) and Cape Town, South Africa (Oct-Nov), towards the Antarctic in search of the Great Southern Continent. Hey Woopert - its raining slightly and the high command has left for a week to the Southern Highlands to see her sister - bangers out of the freezer to be had with onion gravy spuds sweet spuds pumpkin carrots and broad beans from the garden - only you and I know so keep schtum - first meeting tonight of the new executive - so it begins - bevvies good afterwards though - I too like sea bass and will have some when back in 2016 - my dad who is 93 doesn't give a hoot about low fat this etc never seen him drink a glass of water has full cream milk anchor butter enjoys chips and has a vino collapso every night - when the bus comes along with your number that's it - now where's that cream bun ATB
The Tea Act, passed by Parliament on May 10, 1773, granted the British East India Company Tea a monopoly on tea sales in the American colonies. This was what ultimately compelled a group of Sons of Liberty members on the night of December 16, 1773 to disguise themselves as Mohawk Indians, board three ships moored in Boston Harbor, and destroy over 92,000 pounds of tea. The Tea Act was the final straw in a series of unpopular policies and taxes imposed by Britain on her American colonies. The policy ignited a âpowder kegâ of opposition and resentment among American colonists and was the catalyst of the Boston Tea Party. Evening anti. My mouth is watering as I read what you are having for dinner. We had rain and sun today, and a tad chillier. Lost in the JPT cup match last night to an extremely dirty Northampton Town. End result, three of our players injured. Still never mind, concentrate on the league. Home to Mansfield Town on Saturday, and then off to that there London early Sunday for a week. May not have access to the internet up there Have a great day.
As I recall, according to Mr Banks, the tea was thrown overboard making it undrinkable.....even for Americans
In June 1774, Nicholas Cresswell needed to see a doctor. Cresswell was a twenty-four-year-old Englishman who had sailed to the colonies a month earlier seeking adventure. He was confident that America was where he could make his fortune, enabling him to declare his independence from his family back home in the English Midlands. We know this because Nicholas kept a journal of his adventure through which he describes his dreams and aspirations. He also tells us that in June of 1774 he was journeying from Annapolis, Maryland to Alexandria, Virginia with a party of travellers when he suddenly fell ill. Persuaded to seek the care of a doctor, his notes provide us insight into what it was like to be a patient in the 18th century. "I immediately gave him as hard a blow as I could with my fist over the face." Hey Woopert - sunny day - last night had the tv to myself could do all the manly things that blokes like to do with no fear like break wind both ends etc cards today and dad shopping as I enviously gaze at all the lovely full fat high sodium stuff he puts in the basket - the high command phoned up last night and said "oh your home then" and when I replied well of course otherwise you would have phoned my mobile she got the hump - *sigh* hopefully a win against Mansfield then a luverly time in Londinium visiting family I presume - ATB
The year is 1775. The American colonies are outraged over new taxes imposed upon them by Great Britain. They begin to stockpile arms and organize militia. On April 18th, militia members ambush a column of 700 British Redcoats ordered to seize stockpiled arms. 273 British soldiers are killed or wounded before they reach safety in Boston. The American Revolution has begun! G'day anti. Indeed visiting eldest daughter, son-in-law (an Arsenal fan), and grandson (who will be a Pompey fan by the time I've finished indoctrinating him). Sun & rain today. Hope tomorrow is better. Cheers !
Storyline of 1776 The film version of the Broadway musical comedy of the same name. In the days leading up to July 4, 1776, Continental Congressmen John Adams and Benjamin Franklin coerce Thomas Jefferson into writing the Declaration of Independence as a delaying tactic as they try to persuade the American colonies to support a resolution on independence. Greetings Woopert - fine sunny morning been to the pool and done my bit along with a load of ladies riding Hydrobikes in the pool all the ladies bar one were of generous proportions so not long after starting there was a small tsunami so I retreated to the hydro pool then spa - hope the weather clears up for your week away - darts tonight so I can bring home as many plump birds as I want as the coast is clear not that that will happen but I can dream - see young Chambers got his call up tonight - we could have had a belter of a team if we hadn't sold all our academy boys still dream on - ATB
October 7, 1777 - The Battle of Saratoga results in the first major American victory of the Revolutionary War as Gen. Horatio Gates and Gen. Benedict Arnold defeat Gen. Burgoyne, inflicting 600 British casualties. Evening anti - rain again today. Got soaked ! How did your darts go ? Any takeaways of the plump bird variety ?! Hope you have a good weekend. I'm hoping to get on the internet when I can next week, but possibly not every day.
